Spinners Testimonial

What's happened about this?

I've always wondered why we would have a testimonial for Prior. I presume it is because we were the first and last team to contract him. I would like to see one put forward to him and I would happily attend!

Agree. For a testimonials its for 10 years service yet I believe Spinner done 7 years for us over 2 spells, unless they are counting the fact that he came through the youth setup so was at the club before he made his professional debut.

Yeah exactly what I was thinking. Obviously it's a well deserved testimonial but he wasn't with us for 10 years. Maher was with us for 10 years, so I think he should get the upper hand first and get his testimonial done with.

Yep I don't disagree, I think he should have one, just think it's a bit strange if he wasn't here for 10 years. Oh well look forward to seeing him there :) - if it goes ahead!

I was under the impression that spinner would get his testimonial at the new stadium and so would Maher. Much as i rated Spinner , Maher deserves his above all others and i wont be happy if the club try to let this one go.

Personally i would love to see a southend legends against say Man city legends for Spinners game.

Angel/ Benjamin/ Crown/ Collymore and more recently Eastwood and the Goat (be great to see the goat again)

The Goat would probably bring 1500 man city down just to see him.

Not sure Marsh and Whelan would be interested as they never played with Spinner, but to see the rest of them play would be good.

Maybe for Mahers testimonial we could have some of the select players from his spell with us.....

I sure that Spinners game was slated only a few weeks ago for Sat 2nd August, the Wycombe game has put paid to that.
