Southend: Morris, Clohessy, Gilbert, Hall, Mohsni, Grant, N'Diaye, Harris, Johnson, Barker, Kalala.

Subs: Coughlan, Sawyer, Phillips, Prosser, Bentley, Crawford, Asante, Leonard, James-Lewis

Bar Corr (injury permitting) coming in for either Kalala or N'diaye. I think that is our best side we can field at present. Badly need a quality striker!

Like Smiffy said but also I am not sure about the creativity of the 3 centre midfield players who all seem a very similar style - can't go tonight and feeling a bit gutted

I think Sawyer will help with that at times this season. Don't think it's as big of a problem as last year though due to the fact we now have two creative wingers instead of one.

Febian Brandy is available on a free, young and quick. Cheap replacement for Paterson but would work I reckon. Or Liam Dickinson as mentioned above.

Who's lining up for Ipswich?

According to East Anglia times their line up is Fulop; Edwards, Smith, Delaney, Kennedy; Carson, Bowyer, Hyam, Leadbitter, Martin; Chopra

Ipswich have got a full strength 11 out and their quality is showing. Jason Scotlan has come on for Chopra. We're knocking it around OK but seriously struggling to retain possession up top because Harris is so isolated in a 433. Fitness isn't there yet. N'Diaye and Johnson are blowing. Harris getting frustrated with Johnson not being far forward enough and at his team mates not following in for the second ball after the long pass up field. All a bit disjointed.

Perhaps we could add him a a sweetener to the package if they want to buy Ferdinand and Grant? N'Diaye pushes out at Ipswich player .........red card in League match according to CP.

It would have been- but the ipswich player would have been off as well for kicking out in the first place.

And anyway we'd probably look better without N'Diaye on the pitch.
