Southend United's Barry Corr confirms return to full fitness with goal in win against

I wouldn't be surprised if clubs far higher up the pyramid look at Corr for free in the Summer. He was majestic yesterday.

Indeed. I was saying as much a few weeks ago in the "Which of our players could play higher" thread. I don't think any of our squad would find it comfortable in the Championship, but if Corr's 100% fit he stands the highest chance. Goalscoring targetmen are invaluable at that level given the requisite physicality, and the success of the likes of Holt and Lambert only emphasises that. When fully fit, Corr's a considerably better option than the likes of Jon Parkin who managed a good few years at that level.

I still get excited that Barry Corr's even on the field. The Orient match, though, was when I finally thought that he looked fit. He's faster, he turns quicker and he doesn't look like he's in agony for the last half an hour. He never stopped scoring, of course, but I'm not sure I ever believed he'd be more than an impact player. He's truly back, and that's fantastic. If he's still with us next year he could go for twenty goals plus.

We know that Barry Corr took a wage drop to stay with the Blues this season, but I definatly think that he owes the club and the Gaffer with some loyalty after we gave him a new deal this season. In times when clubs have to count every penny, we took a slight gamble by offering him a contract this season, especially when you consider he didn't play for an entire season. I would like to think that he would show his apreciation and loyalty of an extended stay if and when we offer him a new deal.

I am chuffed to bits with his contribution this season and feel he will just get better and better for us, what a fantastic attitude he has and he must be so strong minded to get through those dark injury days. I think Ben Clarkson also deserves a lot of praise too with the time and effort he put in with Barry Corr, I know BBBC appreciates it from talking to him and reading his comments.

To be fair that was a long time ago, before we saw him score 20.

There are still some people who say it now, remember someone saying he wasnt up to it a month or so back after he scored saying "every dog has his day". Glad to see that dog continuing to have quite a few of those days!

Well done Bazza, what a great feat to come back from such a long time out, hope he rewarded with promotion and a new contract.Must admit over the years its unusual for a player to come back and have such a great impact and look stronger
