...........................SMITH............................
CLOHESSEY....PHILLIPS....CRESSWELL...REEVES
LEONARD......SPILLANE....WOODYARD...HURST
..............ASSOMBALONGA..TOMLIN...............

With one eye on Tuesdays big Orient match .... slot Reeves in for his debut + give Barkers legs a rest
Save Timlin ( 1 booking away from suspension ) + give Woodyard a game with Spillane holding
Drop Corr to give Brit a chance to sharpen up ,whilst also make Corr angry ( he will come back meaner + keener for tuesday)

Also if this is not working we change to 3-5-2 + get our wing backs attacking down both flanks

In the JPT game they were the better side 1st half until PS went to wing backs after the break, but I don't think we'll start the match like that. Would like to see the new lad Reeves start, anyone who can make the bench in the Prem must be able to a job for us & an unknown quantity for Oxford. TBV needs to be on top of its game too, 700-800 away fans are going to make some noise, though I don't think they will get 1000+ they are predicting they will.

Would expect to see Britt play 15-20 mins in place of Corr as Im sure PS would want him to start against Orient with Tomlin

I get your thinking , but IMO this is the big game.
Cannot afford to drop league points at home , so would expect Timlin and Barker to play.

Not sure about Laird, hasnt been talk of him coming back. For me Britt should go back in. Corr has done well in the cups but has struggled in the League and not really struck up any kind of rapport with Tomlin. We've missed Britts energy, pace and strength up front. Reeves should be raring to go so stick him in too on left midfield. Surely wouldnt get a premier league player in and stick him on the bench. So Id go with

Im sure PS said last week that Laird would be fit for this saturday. So if he is i would start him, or play timlin in the middle with Spillane and Reeves out wide left and have laird on the bench. Thinking about the Orient game, might be a good idea to rest Timlin, one card away from missing the game and start with Laird and Spillane, neither of whom can play in the JPT... Nice to have a few options for a change.

SC, MP, Cressie, Barks
Hirst, Laird, Spillane, Reeves
Britt (or BBBC) & Gavin.

Bench must have Woody, Luke, Timlin & others.
So some rested and options for change; and a 20 minute run out in prep for Tuesday.

Yeah. Cool. What El Dude above said. Innit - both formations and thinking. Crazy man.

Think Britt will start on the bench, bring him on, depending how the game is going. Maybe a draw me thinks, but hoping for a win.

Agree with both of those.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Hurst/Reeves combo but if Laird is back could see him on the bench. Cant see him playing left back as suggested earlier, pretty sure he was brought here to play midfield.

Back four will stay the same after a clean sheet.

I think (and hope) that Britt comes in to start and runs around for an hour before getting a rest. The main reason I believe for our poor run of form has been the lack of ability to hold the ball up front and put pressure on the opposition back four.

Other than score goals Corr has offered next to nothing in team play or off the ball work, which has meant less possession of the football and being pushed too far back.

Midfield could be anyone. Laird was touch and go for last Saturday, so I would hope he is now fit, (anyone seen him train?), Leonard was one player to do OK last week, so maybe deserves another chance. I don't think he will rest Timlin just in case he gets a booking. Does he bring in Reeves so he isn't thrown in the deep end against Orient? If so, on the left or in the middle?

Wouldn't like to call tomorrow's starting XI at all.

Agree with the points you make but think them main reason for our decline was losing our midfield and having to revert back to players we had back when we struggled early on.

That said getting Spillaine and also Laird back in should improve the midfield, and with Britt to come back in and hopefully reignite the partnership with Tomlin hopefully we can build on the last result.

Im taking my nephew and niece along with us to this one, so hopfefully it will be entertaining!

Unsure if reeves shall start..
