Official Match Thread Southend United vs Gateshead

I usually regret saying these things BUT, for me, that looks a good set up/side to start safe with, get some confidence in and then have some good subs to use.
Not to me, it shows them far to much respect and is very negative for a home team and they also have subs to use.

Looks like protecting a make shift back line with numbers rather than protecting them by keeping the ball up the other end. We’ll see. Hopefully works out or the post match thread will be x certificate.

Gateshead could overrun a side that goes gung-ho.
I think Kev's hand is forced by circs.
As for Pepple on his own? Hmmm...not sure how that would work.
He's not the best header of a ball on the evidence thus far; and if he's quick; he's yet to show it!
Taylor was never going to make it, and bearing in mind it's Maidenhead after this, KM may well give him a pass for that one too.
