Bentley,
White, Thompson, Barrett, Coker,
Worrall, Leonard, Atkinson, Payne,
Mooney, Hunt

Subs: Prosser, Rea, O'Neill, Timlin, Deegan, Hurst, Pigott

Good to see Hunt back but not convinced by that line-up. Not a big fan of Payne out wide, and think we could've done with some more changes after Millwall (particularly Mooney), wonder how Pigott feels seeing Hunt go straight into the line-up and Mooney keeping his place.

Yep, an interesting mix. Great that Hunt is returning, but I would have had him on the bench with maybe 30 mins on the pitch, but I'm not the manager and it's Phil's call. As for Mooney keeping his place, a bit odd on the face of it, but again maybe Phil reckons he could still yet do the biz with Hunt back. We shall see. I am beginning to wonder whether Pigott has missed the bus on the loan or keep front.

Bloody strong bench there by the way.

Hunt won't last 90 minutes, so Piggott will get game time. Timlin or Deegan would be a good swop for Atkinson, other than that looks like a good side to me.

Team selected looks good, and I agree, strong bench. This has to be our best squad for years:happy:

Just seen Brown interviewed on Sky Sports, seems relaxed and in good humour. Praising the level of support for Southend with fan from Brisbane and numbers at Bradford and the 33,000 at Wembley. Spoke of promoted teams from last year going well, Burton, Bury and us. Ruled Mourinho out for taking job at Sourhend. Also spoke of us and Bury being well set up, team and behind the scene. Spoke of number of games we played on Fridays when he started here and how they have dwindled out.
Brown looked well up for this one and so am I!

Need to keep Leon Clarke shackled, he is a better player than when with us.
Pope is also dangerous but on the bench for Bury.
Hopefully, Payne will give P Clarke the runaround tonight!

Hopefully you are right, but Clarke is a wily old bird and will not be drawn in easily.

Credit to Bury FC chairman for the vouchers to get free pie and drink  but I would swap it for 3pt through lol

I'm reliant on the commentators here, but that bit about Bentley thinking about coming for the cross and then changing his mind is starting to become a bit too frequent. I'm probably worrying unnecessarily.

interesting that Adrian Clarke says he has stood still this season rather than developing
