It’s back to back Saturday home games for a change and no midweek game preceding it either, Maidenhead United are the visitors for the first game in the new month.

Alan Devonshire's side are showing an identical run of form to ourselves over the last six games, albeit they have managed to win their last two, against struggling Boston and Ebbsfleet, both by a 2-1 scoreline. They currently sit three points and three places behind us in the league.

There will be a few familiar faces in their squad with Shaun McCoulsky playing up front, Nathan Ferguson and Kane Ferdinand in midfield and winger and part-time trainer customiser Sam Barratt all now plying their trade with The Magpies. McCoulsky scored in the last game with an assist from Ferguson, Barratt was on the bench and Ferdinand not involved.

For the Shrimpers, thankfully skipper Nathan Ralph should return following his one match suspension - whether that’s to replace one of three central defenders or at LWB to replace Bridge, who has been IMHO mainly disappointing this season, is one of the decisions for Kev to make. I thought Joe Gubbins had a fairly decent game last Saturday so it would be perhaps harsh to drop him. Whether or not Harry Taylor is fit enough to return remains to be seen.

The fact that we’ve had no midweek game this week must help and hopefully some extra time on the training pitch will help the newer players like Moncur, Bonne, Pepple and Foran settle into the club and our way of playing.

What’s certain is that unless they can perform better than the lacklustre displays at Wealdstone and home to Gateshead, then COSU’s attendance target of 7,300 for each home game will be increasingly hard to achieve.

So who would you choose to start, and what do you predict the result will be?

Gubbins or Foran to come in if Taylor not able to go, Bonne to replace Walker if he's not ready for 90.
