After the foggy and eventually wasted Wednesday night trip to Lincolnshire we have our first home league game of 2025 against high flying Barnet. The Bees will have had a day extra to recover than us (from the journey not the 7-minutes of play!) as they travelled to Forest Green Rovers on Tuesday night when they drew 0-0 at the league leaders.
Barnet are currently in third place in the National League, only a point behind leaders FGR and are seemingly in a three-way scrap for automatic promotion with York the third member of the triumvirate.
Interestingly, although they’re undefeated over the last 6 league games, Dean Brennan’s side have not got as many points as we have over the same period, having only the single win.
They have a couple of familiar faces in their squad in Ben Coker and Zak Brunt who were both on the bench on Tuesday evening. Unlike us they have managed to sign a striker in January, in Lee Ndlovu. However like us they also had a goal scorer leave the building as Nick Kabamba has joined Bromley.
Kev chose to start loanee goalkeeper Nathan Harness at Boston, however although a couple of years older he has less experience than Collin so if our no.30 is fit and well enough to do so, then I would expect him to start (unless we sign Elliot Justham in the meantime!).
Kev had chosen Bonne to partner Kendal upfront on Wednesday and, inexplicably to most of us, Husin and Miley were preferred to James Morton again. Let’s see if he sticks with this for a home game.
So who would you choose to start against the high flying Bees, and what do you predict the result will be?
