SOUTHEND United manager Phil Brown has rekindled his interest in former Queens Park Rangers striker Hogan Ephraim.

"Having hogan on the left and hurst on the right would be something quite special."

**** you Myles Weston :raspberry::thumbdown:

I think this is just a bit of showboating by Phil Brown. We could never possibly pay the sort of salary of Hogan Ephraim would expect, and, as RobB11 correctly points out, if Phil is really serious it would certainly seem to marginalise the position of Myles Weston. I am great admirer of Phil Brown and I am sure he is trying hard to keep the fans interested when he has at least one arm tied behind his back in the transfer market by the Chairman. But he needs to be careful not to demoralise his own players when making such statements in the local paper.

Look at the players Shrewsbury are signing like of Lawarnce who used to play for Sunderland, Stoke & Pompey in PL/Championship level.

We will not be able to sign players of this calibre in this league so why on earth keep coming out with this bull sheet.

Its a pointless excercise. Why not make it more interesting and say we are interested in messi and ronaldo.

Our Phil loves talking to the media so I agree with above.

Wonder if Phil can stay out of the press for 7 days?

During the season, and I'd agree with you, it would be nice.

But this is the one time of year we don't want him to be though. We want players to notice him, to see his (and the clubs) ambition (even if it is a little overly ambitious), if he's constantly talking about Southend in the press, then it's raising our profile; and during the key signing period of the year, this is definitely what we want.

has he had/got one arm tied? Ron seems to back him in brining in a player for a fee and also adding another midfielder when we didnt really need one i have actually been surprised with Rons transfer backing so far but maybe you know more than me (not a dig) i await to be corrected lol
