I do like Mark and I want him to be successful but he is sounding like our Chairman more and more with his comments which really say nothing, im'e beginning to believe we will soon run out of time to change anything which would allow us a fighting chance of staying up........

In fairness MM was asked the question and he clearly didn't know the answer. 'I don’t know, your guess is as good as mine at the moment' seems a reasonable response to me.

There’s people in the fan base who still forgive Ron. I can understand a man who could tell me he ain’t got the funds to do the job. To tell me lies non stop isn’t acceptable. Give up. No more of my money will go to the club. All I want is honesty

So even if we get the embargo sorted, we can’t register players outside of the transfer windows?

I think I remember reading somewhere that's a squad of 16 you can register outside a window, 23 in. So if someone gets injured in February we can't replace before we get below 16

That was my understanding as well; though that rule is completely bonkers, surely it should be the same at all times; what logic is there in having it different!!!

To confirm I’ve just bought a ticket for tomorrow’s game

Really?
In which case CP should be asking, why?

Surely, the manager will have asked Ron, and therefore could at least offer the chairman's response.

Saying" "I don’t know, your guess is as good as mine at the moment," needs challenging if he really believes the club's local reporter knows more than he does.

What was the last thing the chairman said when you asked him, might meet a flat bat.
But then you push with: do you think you should answer that question properly?

On top of which, CP might have asked whether MM meant 'aggravated' instead of 'exaggerated'?

Thing is, CP is doing what clever journalists do by turning a question into an article with the suggestion that it was a statement by MM rather than a response. It's a different context.

I don't think it's unreasonable to trust MM over this, especially as Ron has history of keeping managers in the dark, whether Sol reacting in his aloof manner, PB demanding to know about a new contract offer, or even Tilly suffering Ron's handling of JCR's transfer from Rotherham.

Whether his fault or not, MM is walking on the proverbial tightrope in terms of his job and is hardly going to jeopardise his position further by holding Ron to ransom over details, especially as Ron has continued to back him when 95% of chairmen wouldn't.

Truth is, and as MM might agree... *

* Other home insurance companies are available...

Hmm...
It's not the responses it's the questions that bother me.

My suggestions would have CP doing his job by asking difficult questions.
It might end up with MM saying: he (Ron) wont tell me, but that would at least make it plain.

As it stands, it makes the manager look clueless rather than embargoed (oh, the irony) on being able to answer.

'I know, but I can't say' might at least be something.

Ultimately MM isn't responsible for the embargo and is powerless to sort that out; that's Ron's job so it makes no sense to give MM a hard time on that with difficult questions when he can do nothing about it. The 'update' thing is just to fill column inches anyway. To be honest the headline is a bit misleading.

MM is responsible for what happens on the pitch. That's where CP can put his foot down a bit, and often does so in his post-match analysis.
