Post your Match Reports and ratings here please.

It is pretty obvious to me that the Jinx all along has been Dave the Shrimper...he misses his first home game in 3 years and look what happens.:smiles:

Wasn't at the game, so can't give any reports or ratings, but can supply a few useless stats:

*That was our biggest win of the season - obviously! :dim:

*It is the first time we have won a game by three goals since March last year.

*It is the first time we have scored four goals in a game for 2 years and four months.

*It is the first time we have scored four goals at Roots Hall in the League since we beat Huddersfield by the same score in December 2007.

*It is the first time we have scored four goals in one half since our 3rd Round FA Cup win against Dagenham and Redbridge three years ago.

*And it is the first time we have scored four goals in one half in the League for almost four years, since we thrashed QPR 5-0 in the Championship.

I just dont know what to say, maccs were dog awful make no mistake but we had some loony french/tunisian/marshan CB playing up top, he somehow done the job of causing carnage and sort of getting a hat-trick honestly WTF, im off to start a new thread.............should moshni play up front on saturday?

evans.....good save from free kick in first half, nothing much else to do 6.5
clohessy.....looked a bit hesitant at times in the first half but got forward well. 6.5
barker......solid, commanding and a fantastic surging run in the 2nd half nearly scored from it. 7.5
coughlan......as above really without the crazy run 6.5
gilbert........ive been slating him of late but was much better tonight actually played a few short passes. 6
grant.......looked lively but still not passing that well, linked up well with hall at times won plenty of ball 7
hall.........MOTM looks full of confidence has developed that swagger and is playing with real gusto/guts amazing shot in 2nd half that would have possibly been best ever goal at the hall 8.5
easton..........better from the skipper tonight 7
ferdinand...........we must sign him on a long term contract right now, he is 17 yet plays with such maturity and awareness 7.5
moshni.......I havent got a clue, he hasnt got a clue, gives 4000% effort and just makes me smile 8
sturrock........worked his socks off linked up play very well at times 6.5
all subs 6

BBC said crowd was 5011. Massive gaps all round the ground ----- never the same amount as Friday , especially with the 30-ish away fans.

No way was there 5000 there, closer to 4000 I would of said.

What a luxurious position to be in - sitting back relaxed for 60 minutes knowing the points were in the bag.
It really was the Mohsni show - second half a damp squib once the man went hobbling off.

Their keeper was a joke.. great fun to watch - cant believe he is an international

Evans (7) - Didnt have a great deal to do but looked comfortable and made a good late save from a shot he would have seen late
Clohessy (6) - Not Seans greatest night to be fair but did get forward well at times
Gilbert (7) - Possibly the highest rating I have given Gilbo but he did very well first half with some great tracking and tackling
Coughlan (7) - Commanding alongside Barker.. Looks much fitter and stronger than early season
Barker (7) - Lost a few headers against their big centre forward but almost scored with a cameo run
Grant (6) - Is it just me or has Granty lost a bit of puff in recent games? Always involved but just lacked touch and drive tonight
Easton (7) - Did the simple stuff well enough and got in the way of Mohsnis hat trick ;)
Ferdinand (8) - Top performance sitting in front of back four and lapping almost everything up
Hall (8) - Looks better every week as his confidence increases. A goal and could have had goal of the season
Sturrock (8) - Held the ball up wonderfully in the first half and cant get enough credit for Halls second goal
Mohsni (9) - What else can you say?

Sawyer (6) - did ok
Corr (5) - didnt really trouble defence
Phillips (6) - had little to do - good to see him out there

Ref (8) - let the game flow and largely anonymous

Evans - 7 Descent few saves, one brilliant one from a free kick, and some solid catches in the slanting rain.
Clohessy - 7 Good going forward, good solid defensively, he's quality.
Barker - 7.5 Commanding
Coughlan 7.5 Solid
Gilbert - 7 Any danger, away it goes, not great distribution but does his job defensively, I'm sure there is more to come from him!

Hall - 8 Great finish.
Grant - 7 Just takes the **** with some of his touches, and creates time on the ball somehow.
Ferdinand - 7.5 Composure to the max.
Easton - 9 Passion, Driving forward, battling, Nipping at the heels, he's our CAPTAIN, and it shows.

Mohsni - 8.5 Such a good footballer but completely MENTAL!
Sturrock - 10 Absolutely quality, shows some absolute class, and doesn't stop, he is such a good player, and battles and chases throughout the whole game. He does it every game, but with players pushing forward and with a striker with a bit of pace and mobility it makes him look better.

We where two players off a promotion worthy side, and hopefully we've found them with Ryan Hall and Mohsni.

Good atmosphere down in W block, and spreading around the ground every now and then.

GET IN!

Top class first half performance.

trouble with Blair is if he puts in that kind of performance in a 0-0 he will get little recognition. I will be the first to recognise I am just as guilty of criticism of him but on a night like tonight he was fantastic.

According to the bbc website there was 5011 there tonight.

Well, looking around the ground tonight I would have said 3500 was about right, poor but a rainy Tuesday night, second game in five days and with a lot going to Barnet on Saturday because we've been playing better away would all have had an effect; many people just can't afford best part of sixty quid plus travel, beer, etc, in 8 days at the moment.

A few more performances like tonight though and the crowds will creep up. Best home footballing performance of the season for me and not really surprised by Moshni, he'll always create havoc and therefore chances, however, was surprised by the quality of some of his link play in the first half.

As said further up, get Ferdinand signed up now! Considering his age and lack of experience he just looks so confident on the ball, tends to wait and play the right ball rather than just play the first option on and some of his covering play is little short of brilliant; tonight when Clohessy pushed forward and got caught out Maccs broke down the right into the gap only to come up against Ferdinand who'd read the move and come across to snuff it out. Just oozed class.

Sorry, to any of those of you that don't like it, but TBV being down at the front works so much better, obviously getting heard by the East and the South as well as the North and getting support from others in the West. Even got another wave from PS tonight, and got the score from Evans....

Also respect to the Maccs fans, not many of them but a long trip on a wet Tuesday night; deserved their chant of 'loyal supporters' from TBV.

i would also suggest that arsenal being on terrestrial and man u playing many took the armchair option tonite

Superb result for Southend! Fantastic to see us winning at Roots Hall again as well!

We looked very promising attacking, Mohsni playing up front worked really well, and paid off tonight. Hall had a great game today, Ferdinand has impressed me in the last couple of home games, and aged only 17, I think he could become a very good player. We looked the better side for pretty much all the game, we did well defensively, and I thought we thoroughly deserved the 4-1 win, and the 3 points.
Atmosphere in the West was fantastic once again, well done all fans involved, the drum down at the bottom of the stand definitely makes a difference in my opinion.
Also, credit to the Macclesfield fans as well, not many supporters would travel all that way to watch their team lose 4-1, you should be proud of your support.

Great result for us today, 4 great goals, 3 well-deserved points.
Will post full match ratings tomorrow.

Good atmopshere especially in the first half. When we went 4-0 up we all went very relaxed and enjoying the game.

Evans - 7, made some good saves and it's a shame about the goal because he deserved a clean sheet.

Clohessy - 7.5, Always looks for runs on that right and is very hard to mark, always makes space for players to pass to him.
Coughlan - 7, Nothing wrong with his defending
Barker - 7.5 , played well, defended well and always looked to push forward to.
Gilbert - 6.5, nothing wrong with his performance either. Still think he has more to give though

Hall - 8.5, wicked player. improving each game, good goal, provided the assist for mohnsi and generally played good.
Grant - 7, not his best game, but played decent and done his part, love the guy
Ferdinand - 7, Loves playing 1st team football you can just see it.
Easton - 7.5, good captain and played well.

Mohnsi - 9, Always stuck in the game, you can see his potential he loves playing and can play anywhere.
Sturrock - 9, Very good performance, held the ball up well, passed well. Definetly need him.

Loved the game. I'm gonna try to avoid bringing it up as best I can but still really ****ed off with the 1 guy at the front swearing and abusing Blair everytime he came over the west block. Even when we were 3-0 up, the 1 guy was still larring it off to him, just don't understand.
But quality win and needed those goals.
BBC attendance, 5011.
What's the official?
