Shame ! To be fair, he had his arms firmly wrapped around Hopper for most of the match.....
Clever from Bonne for the 3rd. Gave the big black lad a little nudge and he was fuming about it at the time and after the game![]()
Look how he embraces Kendall. Looks genuinely happy for himBonne. A true team player
The goals will come for all of them in time, even Bonne. I think we sometimes forget how much of a transitional season this has been. We've lost our main centre half, using three or four others to try and fill that void. We've had to use more goalkeepers than I can ever remember. We lost Cav Miley to injury early on which forced us to reshape our midfield, and we've lost our two best strikers at different points of the season. He's definitely a passionate player, you could see that from him with that mess up against Sittingbourne. One goal isn't enough for a striker, but as an assister and movitator, can't knock him.
This is a really, really good summary which puts a lot into perspective! The goals will come for all of them in time, even Bonne. It is little wonder we've been inconsistent, really it's a season of transition for us. Hopper, Bonne, Kendall and Walker are four good strikers at this level and the goals will come in time.
What I liked about Tuesday was that we had the option to use the channels when Halifax pressed us at the back. The way Kev ideally wants us to play is with passing attacking football, but the inconsistency and lack of confidence has hampered that this year. With Hopper we have the option to go long, and with Kendall and Walker you can slide balls down the channel. It worked well on Tuesday.
I actually think Bonne will end up being our top goalscorer next season...The goals will come for all of them in time, even Bonne. Yep, for myself too. I found myself having a right old wobble earlier this week after the awful S'bourne and Maidenhead games. It is hard to stomach losing to teams like that, but it is football. We started the season conceding some awful goals, leaking like a sieve, being forced into changes, and we've been forced to put that defensive side right as a priority, hence the 'negative football' we have seen. We've also had to adapt to losing Pepple at a time when things were starting to look more positive. This is a really, really good summary which puts a lot into perspective!
I'm not even sure he'll be a Southend player next season!I actually think Bonne will end up being our top goalscorer next season...
Oh really? How comes? I hope he is!I'm not even sure he'll be a Southend player next season!
He joined on a one year deal. The club do have a further one year option on him, should they choose to activate it.Oh really? How comes? I hope he is!
unless he gets some more goals im not sure there will be a next season for himI actually think Bonne will end up being our top goalscorer next season...
So are we going to have 5 new strikers next season then?unless he gets some more goals im not sure there will be a next season for him
Could go either way at the moment. For all his efforts, if he carries on the same until the end of the season I can’t see it getting extended. But it’s clear he’s a confidence player. I genuinely think if he can get back in the XI and grab another goal or two in the next few games, he could go on a run. Does everything right except hit the onion bag.He joined on a one year deal. The club do have a further one year option on him, should they choose to activate it.
Walker, Hopper and Kendall are I think under contract. Waldron and Bonne are out of contract. Club has an option on Bonne. Not sure about Waldron. So are we going to have 5 new strikers next season then?
Only if you're prepared to listen. This is a really, really good summary which puts a lot into perspective!
