Not a great game as Burton seemed to not want to win today, 5 changes. Had a bit end of season feel. Plus point was clean sheet and Gomes played well!
It'll be vastly different the next two weeks.
 
The good news is, if we don't win the play offs Matt Harrold is playing in the conference next season with Bristol Rovers!

Not to mention Steve Mildenhall.It could have happened to us a few years back.Not a good time to gloat, methinks.

A good mate of mine in Barna is a Brizzle fan.He went back for their game and will be gutted.I'm sorry for him as all true football fans should be.

Great result, gets us into 5th which was the best outcome.

Performance nothing to write home about, one of our typical home 1-0 matches, still if we keep getting those results we will get to Wembley.
 
I didn't see Gomis last time he made an appearance but it must of been a different guy that day. He came on and looked a really good player and some desperate to prove himself, I hope to see more of him.

First few mins when Gomis came on I thought 'oh no, not again' but he got into the game and did well. Maybe he is better suited to L1 where real football is played. He must have something for Brown to have held onto him so long unsigned.
 
Played like a training game of 1st 11 ( us ) v reserves.
But , hey , we won and finished 5th.
Well done lads.
 
Reasonable performance by our heroes. Kept the ball well and kept our good run going.

Bentley 7..One mix up at the beginning where he should have stayed on his line, but made some good saves. Looks a very good and confident keeper
White 6.5...Steady
Coker 6.5...Steady
Egan 7.5...my MOTM. Dominant.
Sokolik 7...Solid display
Timlin 7...Usual industrious self
Leonard 6.5...Kept things simple
Atkinson 7... Similar to Timlin. Huge workrate
Murphy 6.5...Makes some strange decisions, but gave us a nice balance
Hurst 7...Ok, but a peach of a cross (on his wrong foot) for the ball
Corr 6.5...Worked hard. Nice headed goal

Subs : Gomis 7..Some nice flashes of skill. Straker 6.5 Ok. Not on long. Fred 6.5 Not on long

First time I've seen him and he definitely has some skill with the ball, couple of wayward passes but he looked strong and wasn't afraid to take players on. He should probably avoid shooting though, the one he had was dreadful.
 
I thought Will Atkinson had an absolutely cracking game today, top, top work from him throughout :thumbsup:

Questions for me over the subs, wasn't impressed with Gomis coming on but fair play, he did a good job, and certainly was an improvement on Murphy. Straker for Tims, poor old Tims, has another good game and then gets hoiked off. Freddy for Corr, no real surprise there, I guess.

Bentley - 7, one excellent save form a free kick
White - 7, a very much unsung hero
Sokolik - 6.5, good but inexperience showed a couple of times
Egan - 7.5, really good, solid and dominant game
Coker - 7, usual sort of game
Hurst - 6.5, industrious
Timlin - 7, typical battling game
Leonard - 7, delighted he got POTY, usual sort of Lenny game
Atkinson - 8, absolutely everywhere, never stopped battling
Murphy - 6, good balance but needs to have a better end product
Corr - 7, another goal

Subs:
Gomis - 7, Straker - 6.5, Freddy, - 6.5

Officials - very weak, missed a lot and let a lot go. What on earth was that drop ball about when Timlin was chopped down? Clear foul, nothing given!

Lovely to see them going round with their kids at the end, Tims had a whole tribe!

Saving him for the play offs maybe. He has hit form at the right time. When Timms plays well, we play well. Was immense today, nicked the ball off Burton players so many times and got in their faces

Spot on, tims was on a mission today my MOM. Whatever team burton put out next week they will know he is a bag of trouble.
