Southend Taken Seriously?

[SUFCFARAWAY]

Flciking through the TV yesterday I came across a programme on sky sports (poss League Review but don't think it was). The main points amde were

Can Swansea win the league?
Can Huddersfield win the league?
Can Forst or Bristol Ciy, who were two of the favourites at the start of the season, challenge for the title?

Ok. Fair enough - so what about mentioning the club that is top? The one that all the others have to catch - the one that has already beaten the supposedly 'big clubs' that are Forest and Bristol City?

Will one day all the critics take us seriosuly and start saying that we can win the is league?

And also the previous talk of some critics that we were in crisis mode because we didn't win in three games (2 league and LDV).

When will they give us a break? Most of us are being realisitc and know that saftery is top priority but we all havea glimmer of hope that this could be the greatest ever season at Southend. Isn't time that some critics wake up and realise that we are a team that do not give up easily and should be mentioned as true title contenders?

We are rubbish, and most teams could and should view us as an easy three points. Rest a few players for the tougher fixtures, conserve the players' enegies for sterner tests ahead...

We are suffering from The Wigan syndrome.

Widely viewed as now punching above our weight, and we'll drop off any minute because

a) we only came up via the play offs
b) we got beaten by Rushden last week
c) Eastwood will surely go in January
d) Goaters 35 plus
e) Tilly and Brush are bound to be picked up by a bigger club soon
f) when we lose 3 on the spin thats when it'll start to fall apart
g) we're only Southend after all


Long may it continue. As soon as we become favourites the pressure really will be on.

Ronnie Moore had it right when he left the Hall pointless for his long journey home after the Oldham game. "We should be coming to places like this and winning" he said. He stopped short of mentioning that this was because they played at Wembley quite a few times in the 90's but we all knew what he meant.

Way to go Ronnie! They'll only have to turn up to beat us at Boundary Park in January.

Im sure that players dont think that they just need to show up to beat us, if any single player was to do that in any match then they are not true professionals. Its just an excuse for them to use when they loose.
