Southend Rugby Club Promoted

Yay ! After a 76-15 mauling of Ding Crusaders promoted to National League Division 2 - some former rugby giants in there, and a bit more positive coverage for the town.

Was good to watch, felt proud watching especially after never making 1st team level over there, but some people i played with a few years back helping them win there 4 promotion in 7 years.

Now in the equivalent to league one football. Well done

I was over there on Saturday and there were a few Shrimpers in attendance. Crowd must have been around 1500 and it was an enjoyable Saturday afternoon.

Excellent from Southed RUFC. Will now be playing at the same level, nationally, as the football team next season (probably).

Couple of biggish Rugby names in League Two as well, such as Redruth and Blackheath.

the bloke who sits behind me at work plays for Hertford, who yesterday got relegated from Southend division.. says they are a very good team.

I believe one of Southend coaches is Phil Hillson, who used to be PE teacher at my school, as well as head of our Sixth form College.

I would love to know how someone can slag off the biggest gental giant in the world, he is a excellent bloke and he will do anything for anyone if asked nicely enough.

Not Big Phil? Used to go to Cecil? He was OK when I knew him

yep that's the one Napster, we were neighbours when we were kids and we all hated each other! Although their 9 kids against us 3 was a tad unfair.

I remember one Christmas he picked up my little brother by the throat, choking him silly, there must have been a 6-7 year age difference and after that it was all out warfare...although we got them back soon after by throwing their cat's ****, which was in our garden, all over their washing on the washing line.

It's definitely a personal hatred!

And Jaydeaa, fair enough he may be a sound bloke now but picking on my younger brother when we were kids is reason enough to hate the guy and I told him often enough to his face what i thoughtof him.
