Southend related betting

If this was any game that wasn't involving us, i'd probably be putting most of my bank on this.

Over 2.5 at evens

We can't defend but don't seem to have a probem scoring and it looks as though our striker who scored two in two may well be starting. We've averaged 2.57 goals per game at home (GA+GF) so this should immediately make you think this could be an O2.5 bet but maybe the opposition are cagey

Well, Hartlepool, away from home have averaged 2.85 goals per game with only Swansea, Bournemouth and.......yep, you guessed it, Southend having more freescoring away games. Ok, perhaps this fixture is tight between these two.

Erm, well, a 4-3 win recently at Victoria Park was the 4th meeting in a row between these teams to have been > 2.5.

Before, I buy and then re-mortgage a house to put on it, is there any reason for those odds?

Surely it has 0-0 written all over it?

I remember once the General I think put us all onto the fact Shrimpers.bet had Marky Gower down at 10-1 to score at any time. I made £100 twice thanks to that one.

Yep, very decent bet that. Gower tends to score about once every 7/8 games and if you take difficult away games out, probably about 1 in 6

Those odds were just so wrong. Gower was also 33/1 to score first.

Alas, my office took them totally to the cleaners one weekend (a colleague had £50 at 33s on Gower to score first and another £50 at 9/1 on any time) and that was the end of that. He was 10/1 and 9/4 the following week...

To answer Pubey's question, over 2.5 goals with Ladbrokes is 1.98 (just shy of even money)

That put a smile on my face, that bet. Think we were playing Cheltenham prob 3, nearly 4 years back and i was sitting next to Biffa in the South Upper. He scored in the first half shooting towards the North Bank and i had first goalscorer & any time bet ( with said odds ) at being 18 at the time, i was/still am throughly proud of that one!

Not found valooooooo like that, apart sitting at one of Mr B's home games.

;)

Just checked out my bet history, it was Southend 2 -1 Northampton, October 2004. The win also took us in to the play-offs places :)
