Echo News Southend MP meets with National League as fight to save club continues

Some encouraging news from the National League, but the Trust ackowledge that the integrity of the league has priority.

Doesn’t really matter why she’s doing it.

Regardless of what you think of her and her motivations, it can only be a good thing to have the local MP backing us up at these sort of meetings.
Indeed. Some MPs haven’t spoken in parliament in a year. Better this than the other - whether you like her politics, at least she’s representing her community. Many don’t.

A nice read but actually no substance that I can see- or at least if the deadlines were shared they are not shared with us so might be good, might be bad..but ST have to be engaging wherever they can so no critisism- not remotely.
The bit about the possibility of emergency relief payments, if necessary, is also a double edge sword.
The worry is that actually it's NL deadlines and the lack of other sources of financial help that is forcing Ron to potentially sell now. Stays of execution by NL and ideas of relief funding (although this will likely be talk not action) would be music to Ron's ears. Cans, roads, et al..

Statement being prepared

One trying to sell papers and one trying to get votes
How many people who attend games actually live in Anna's constituency? Only people who support Southend and live in her constituency are going to be thankful for her help and vote for her. If she was after votes, she would be tying herself to helping Southend Airport or highlighting knife crime and trying to force a bill to give life sentences to anyone caught carrying

**Please note this isn't a political post but one to highlight that Anna is trying to help as a fan**

The deadline as it stands is tomorrow, in line with the court.

If there is an adjournment, the NL will consider extending their deadline too but it's not a given that they will do so. They would need to consider the reason for/length of the adjournment and whether it seems like an end to the episode is in sight.

Another potential deadline is the start of the season. They want to avoid revoking a licence/membership after fixtures have begun as that is a big issue for integrity of the competition. If it looks like we'll be starting the season in our current state and still at risk, then they might not let us.

That's about as clear as I can make it.

I seem to remember in the past 2 weeks before season start as final drop dead date which would be 22nd. By then I would be surprised if Kimura were still around as the product would be seriously further devalued IMO. But then if I was Kimura I would have a sign or walk deadline before tomorrow..

Does make them sound far more reasonable than we feared, which is annoying in a way as it releases the pressure valve from Martin once more to push things through.

Thanks for the info.
