Southend Sign 21 Year Old Super Star
Southend United today paid a massive £5.75 Million for Shrimperzone FC Winger/Striker Matthew Rice.
He has signed on a player/coach level.
I was at Roots Hall to catch the first pics of the are super new signing.
In an interview young Winger Matthew had this to say:
"Southend is a club I have dreamed of playing for since I was a young lad, to finally have this oppertunity is amazing. I would like to say a big thank you to my old Gaffer Statski, from SZFC who has been so influencial in my career and has got the best out of me as a player. I would also be upset to not have Scrounger shouting at me a great captain but will be a pleasure to play with Kevin Maher. I also think the move was helped when Freddy Eastwood came round my house to lay my drive and convinced me that if the speculation was true then to take the oppertunity. I was at the Southampton game and was impressed with the fans and hoping to here them chanting 'RICEY RICEY' very soon. Thank you and I hope I can make a real impact."
