Southend Hospital StrokeBusters appeal

Hi everyone,

Yet another one looking for some sponsorship!

I'm running the British 10k race up in London on the 1st July. I'm running it in aid of Southend Hospital StrokeBusters £1m Appeal. It's a really worthwhiles cause and is close to my heart and I'm sure many peoples on this forum.

It's really simple to make a donation, just go to http://www.justgiving.com/jontosh10k
and enter your details there. It automatically claims back giftaid so Southend Hospital will actually make 28p on every pound dontated.

I'm aiming to raise over £500 and need a bit more help to get there... I'm almost at £400!

Thanks everyone,

Jon

p.s. Mods - if this could be sticky'd at the top of the forum for the next week or two I would appreciate it... otherwise I'll just bump it all the time! ta

im on target for under an hr (thats my goal).. not sure about beating 48mins. doing an 8km training run tonight which should be a good indication

Good Luck fella at the moment can't donate as going on holiday on Tuesday so need every penny at the mo! But I come back on the 26th of June and will donate then I promise :D I have a lot of respect for people who run for charity as I am a keen lover of running haven't yet got round to doing it. But will be applying for the London Marathon this year! :D

cheers ricey... i don't think i could hack a marathon yet but after this i may well do a half-marathon and see how that goes. never been the keenest of joggers but really enjoyed training for this and the goal of raising a lot of cash for a worthwhile cause makes it worth all the pain!

Well when you know its for a good cause it gives you the drive to complete it. Its always fun I remember my school yearly 5 mile run which I was one of the best every year winning it my last two years :D and also hold the record for the fastest time. Then I left school started smoking and drinking LOL! Now I have stopped smoking going to cut down the drinking and really work on my fitness, for SZFC and for the London Marathon.

i play hockey and football weekly so i think my core fitness is ok... but it is just being able to convert my fitness from sprinting/break/sprinting etc as in sport... to being able so sustain a pace for 50mins

Hi everyone, just wanted to bump this... the race is this sunday and i'm still looking to get a bit more sponsorship in. It would be great if you could dig in and sponsor just a couple of pounds, every little helps!

cheers,

Made a small donation mate.

A great cause and one I can also relate too.

Good luck.

Hi everyone,

cheers for all your support and sponsorship, I really appreciate it... I made it around in 57mins which I'm pleased with, not bad for my first one and not far off the world record of 28mins! My goal was under an hour so I'm pleased i managed that and look forward to doing some more and really improving my time.

If you haven't sponsored me and would like to then you still can... just head to www.justgiving.com/jontosh10k.

I don't know exactly how much I raised but it is over £450... so thanks again for all your support and I'm really pleased to have raised a decent sum for StrokeBusters!

Thanks,

Jon
