Southend have spent money.......

Blimey... we spent £35,530 on agents to be precise. Only Swansea spent more in our division; and only Bristol City, Hull City, Sheffield Wednesday and Tranmere Rovers spent more in the division above...

Hmm... the plot thickens. In the previous reporting period (1 Jan - 30 Jun) we spent:

£0 on agents.

So, who did we spend the money on in this period - of 19 transactions in total (13 new signings, 5 contract renewals and a loan)?

In the Championship, Brighton, Crewe, Stoke and Watford have spent less on agents than we have this year, and those four plus Coventry and Gillingham have spent less in the last six months.

Meanwhile, in the last six months, Leeds have spent on agents a total of...

£1.6m

No wonder they're screwed...

That is confusing.

The players I can think of are:

Prior
Edwards
Gray
Eastwood
Griemink
Pettefer
Dudfield
Gower (extended contract)
Flahavan

Who else? Wilson? Hunt? Bramble?

It'd be interesting to now how much Fredys agent took out of the deal. Could he be the main offender?

Maybe he received a fee similar to the purchase price of Fredy? Stranger things have happened!

Did Kev Maher & Jay Smith renew within this reporting period?

13 new signings, though...?!

From 30 June

New Signings

Griemink
Hunt
Nicolau
Barrett
Edwards
Prior
Pettefer
Eastwood
Gray

Loan

Ryan Clarke

I guess a few like Flahavan were technically released as they didn't sign new contracts until after 30 June.

As I said at the time of the Freddy will he sign or won't he saga, his agent demanded £30,000 for the negotiation of the transfer. Seemingly he got his way.
