Nothing we didn't already know admittedly, but it turns out that Neil Baker agrees.

Football talk is dull isn't it? I know that obviously in the grand scheme of things 3 points should always be the most important target in this day and age of football, but why don't managers come out anymore and say: "Southend? Bah, couldn't give a toss. I wanna take on Torres and Gerrard, see my centre forward mooning at the Kop and earn some serious TV revenue next week. Not slept for 6 days now and counting; literally ****ing myself with excitement..."

Yes, it really is and I think it's because so much football reporting is literally just taking soundbytes from managers and reporting very basic facts with no insight or analysis. The problem is, the content of the quoted football source is carefully thought over so as not to possibly come across the wrong way to either the players who will not understand a slightly mixed message or to the fans who will overreact at any sign of a crisis (see last week on here).

This is why you should all read Slipperduke's column in the All Leagues section of the forum - it's really good! Read it!
