TV Highlights Southend 4 - 0 Ebbsfleet through condensation apparently

How did the camera operator not notice the huge condensation blob, were they not looking at what they were recording

Anyone that purchased a batch pass really needs to complain. Very poor from the club (not really the fault of DAZN unless they told them to only get the camera acclimatised 2 minutes before kick off)

The camera will generate heat, and this heat will make the condensation appear on the lens. Once the camera has acclimatised (around an hour or so) it would be fine. Perhaps invest in some silica gel beads to store the camera lens in as it may have a slight defects allowing water / moisture in.

Beads wouldn't help, they just needed to get the lens out sooner

Beads would help if there was for whatever reason any moisture behind the lens (so inside the camera) and this could be drawn out whilst the camera is stored away.

However best way to ensure a nice clean lens us get it acclimatised to the environment and have it turned on for an hour or so. The camera will get warm, which in turn will change the dew point on the lens.

The camera must be up on the gantry over an hour before kick off - I rarely see anyone climb the ladder before kick off, they're already up on the gantry. And you'd think they'd check all equipment working well ahead of kick of in case of any issues.

In fairness, the problems started not long after the first goal.
Are they looking at a monitor at all? What's the strength of personnel on that gantry?

Yeah 100%, but even with beads, they didn't acclimatise the lens so the blew it
