Maybe this is just me but there is something that is bothering me about this -
Nicky Bailey, i can understand rejecting the new contract. He did a very simialr thing while at Barnet (even admitted "sulking") but Peter Clarke and Franny both seem good lads who wouldnt try and hold the club to ransom and just want to play footy.
Ron Martin, i feel, has got a bit of history with "spin". I mean, for example, the infamous "eastwood/hammell isnt going" statements followed swiftly by their exits.
So although i do trust Martin, i do wonder whether the offers on the table were reasonable in the sense that they shoud be in the top 10% of earners in the league. If they werent reasonable, then I feel that the players have every right to say thanks but no thanks
