We might even be bathed in sunshine again, just to make the place feel like home!!!

The Spanish Shrimpers will be attending the home game against Swansea City in October; hopefully our luck may lift us out of the relegation zone! (That was an attempt at humour, Jenks me old son.)

Sunshine? Phew! It's been mid 30s again today ...

Quote[/b] (skoda man @ Aug. 15 2004,21:08)]This was my 1st game this season after returning from a week in cyprus

Its only 3 games at the moaners are out in force yet again

but to those so called supporters with there constant abuse
you might as well stay away in my opion you are not supporters of the blues
First we are not moaners but people who actually know something about football and can see the rubbish that is being served up, we chosse to voice our opinions so that the players might actually hear that some of us actually arent actually over the moon with the level of performance that they are more than happy to provide! If you were happy with it then go and start watching conference football now in preperation for where we will end up next season if we continue to play like that!

Second there is nothing wrong with giving players some stick if they are not putting in the performances. They are paid very well for not doing very much and quite frankly do not desereve to be paid after that performance. Its the same situation as West Ham who lost 3-1 at home to Wigan today and Im sure at the end of the game all of there fans werent saying oh well never mind, dont let the players know we angry and disgusted by their display incase they get upset! I pay to get in and I am free to say what I want- which despite what you may think is more sensible than some of the rubbish i read on here.

Thirdly its us so called bad supporters who actually attend the games to back the team all over the contry. Sorry i forgot the majority of Shrimpergeeks on here cant ever really make valid match reports and comments as they hardly ever see the games first hand! Maybe instead of living in front of your computers you might actually try and go to the games and show us how to supposedly 'support' the team!

Fourthly maybe its you who shouldnt bother to attend the games. Oh and by the way Skodas are sh*t!

Why don't you go and speak to Tilly and Paul? I'm sure they will be interested to know what you think of their players.

Tell me about it! I'm still waiting for the volunteers who offered to write reports for Lincoln City and Rochdale to send me their efforts!!

BTW - Benny : I've used your earlier rant in our match report summary; I think it served to sum up the match quite well for us "Shrimpergeeks" who live abroad ...

wink.gif

Getting on players backs so early in the season ain't going to help but I can definitely understand the frustration people are feeling at the moment.
After lasts season's rollercoaster ride I for one thought that we were on the verge of a new start. One where we could be serious challengers for a play off spot and where we could bask in some glory after more than a decade of struggle. I now realise that it was a delusion caused by my turps ridden brain. I hope it's just a blip but that pre-season optimism I felt a week last Saturday has evaporated a tad to fast for comfort.

I am still very angry after yesterdays performance. I hope that my account lets people a side of the story that people would otherwise not see. It annoys me when the supporters who travel are criticised by people who arent actually there to see what happens for themselves!

Im sure it was bad if you listened to the radio or read online match reports or todays papers but i can assure everyone of you that it is more painful to actually have to sit and watch it happen.

Tilson is facing his first real challenge in management- he needs to shake the team up now and provide some of the supposedly more hungry fringe players with the chance to shine. I am not going overboard when i say yesterday was very bad- but things can only get better.

By the way Im sure that not all of you are Shrimpergeeks!

It certainly did. And more of those honest reports please!

And I am a self-confessed "Shrimpergeek" as I live and breath Southend United, even out here in Spain!!

I live for Southend United but some of the people on here really annoy me.

I had stopped posting for quite a while- it seemed that if you raise an issue or make a comment that one person does not agree with then everyone jumps on the bandwagon.

Just like with Wiggy some of the things he says make a lot of sense- the trouble is no one actually appreciates what he is saying. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on the club- the trouble is not everyone knows how to react to it on this board a lot of the time.

Sometimes I think that the people on here look at waht is going on with Rose tinted glasses. All Im trying to let people know is that things on the pitch dont look good and the last thing we want all of the fans to start turning on the manager and team already. Thats why Tilson now needs to be brave and say we have not been good enough and start to mix the team up. We good have played Rochdale all week and never looked like hurting them- there has been no imagination in how to actually break a team down. That is why Jay mith is so badly missed.

More than anything I think that are players are not at the level of fitness required. This is the first thing that needs to be addressed and pronto!!!

Indeed. And I know that I was one of the biggest culprits for quite a while. But I think being away from the club I grew up with has made me somewhat more receptive to what people have to say, even Wiggy, which is why I asked him not to leave the board as he threatened to do earlier today. What I do object to, however, is being told that I and other Shrimpers around the world are not real fans of Southend United; we care just as much about the state of our football club ...

It's great to see more balanced discussion as well as the different points of view, both from those who religeously attend away matches and those like myself, who rely on BBC ESSEX / BLUES WORLD etc. when our heroes are away from home!

Tilson & Brush will get it right and this Saturday won't come soon enough for me!
sad.gif

PoD opened a thread earlier this week commenting on the first 10 games, where we lost our opening game and I am sure he will dig it out to remind people, how we are doing in relation to past seasons... so with 7 games to go, there is 21 points to play for! if we win say 4 of those, thats 12 points, plus the 1 already on the board and things will start to look better!

cool.gif

to benny the blue

Maybe i should not attend away games if there prats like you around you have written what you saw that is your opion

i agree the football was poor but the point of my post was i was getting fed up the personnal attack of one player and one player alone from the start ie drewe - and the bunch of

swearing and constant abuse does not help players or team's morale this my opion

If you know something about football then why are you not in football yourself?

Managing a team on Championship Manager is a little bit easier you know!

If you were in your job, with someone over your shoulder shouting abuse at you, would you perform to your best? Or I would guess your probably still at school, so if your teacher was shouting at you because you were stupid, would you want to be there?

And Southend United footballers in my eyes are not quite in the 'very well paid' catergory either. I would hazard a guess that the majority are on just over the average London salary. If those workers were given as much abuse in their jobs I think they would probably just give up as well, I know I certainly would.

You often know when you've won an argument Skoda Man when the opposition start retreating to childish insults!

It's amazing how fast them tow trucks can move these days, isn't it?

Sorry... nothing personal... I just couldn't resist.

Come on, Skoda Man... give us a smiley.

wink.gif

What none of you know is that Skoda man really flies a Lear jet , hence we all arrived refreshed and raring to go. Shame the players didn't come with us.

I was not impressed with the prat sitting behind us swearing at Broughton the whole match. He stopped after I turned round and growled at him , which was good for him as I was going to resort to biting him otherwise.

Skoda man,

Lighten up mate it was only some light banter obviously you forgot to put your sense of humour pants on today! But you do drive a Skoda so you must have a sense of humour!

I get fed up with this topic which reappears when ever we lose a few games in a row! What is the point of worry about what other people think at least they are there and not at West Ham! Just get ****ed it numbs the pain!

Also

Einstein get out of Skoda man arse!
