Ok, ok its messageboard so very unreliable but apparently there was a Villa scout watching against Barnsley. Quite frankly, is there any other player apart from ready that he was watching.

Doubt he will go anywhere this summer with the championship beckoning. Summer after perhaps.

i would never advocate selling him but being in the championship will make him more expensive but how much would it cost to buy a player of similar quality!!! it wouldn't!!

Can't stand the programme. The content, the presentation, the oh, aren't we so clever-ishness of the programme.

Freddys happy hear, and i think he would rather bring Southend Up the leauges,then a squad player away from home.

I think it takes a good player to play in the Premier$hite, and an even better to take a team with him.

I get the impression from his tv and radio interviews that Eastwood is very happy at Southend, and having been released by West Ham in his younger days, will think twice before moving to a Premier$hite club at the minute.
However if somebody comes along and offers you many times more than you are earning now, it is a big temptation to take the money and run.
I hope for your boys sake that he stays, because he does make a big difference to your team, however a couple of million could help as well

Just rumours. I doubt Villa would want to buy him with only league 1 experience behind him. If we get to the Championship and he proves himself there, then we might have a fight to keep him.

Agreed, there is quite a gulf between the championship and league one, and at striker level the difference is probably most noticeable.

IMO Freddy will be at Roots Hall next season. At his age he will be looking for first team football week-in-week-out. He will not achieve that in another team in the Championship to begin, unless they are a "lesser" team, and why go there! Same of course in the Premiersh!te.
