Sol Campbell

Just read on the BBC that Campbell has left Notts County and is unlikely to be allowed to join a premiership club and still is eying up a world cup spot but if he wasn't and we could afford his wages, would you take him?

No, he would love it at Brighton tho, stiffen up their back four...Hello Sailor

he'd never come here, and wouldnt want him anyway!
read somewhere he still has one eye on the 2010 world cup squad??!! do me a lemon..

Strikes me as a very single minded & selfish individual. Personaly I wouldn't want him at our club regardless of wages as I think he'd be a devisive influence & probably struggles to take orders from any manager he considers to be vastly inferior to himself.

Although I will say this for him, probably like most people I just thought he was after an easy 40k per week for 5 years, but the fact he's walking out on it shows he's not just after the cash otherwise he'd have put up & shut up.

Not that he's short of a bob or two obviously..

No. He's a spoilt, arrogant jumped up little pr1ck who just walked out on a five year contract because the towels weren't fluffy enough in the Notts County changing rooms. A c-unit of the highest order who'd tear apart team morale.

God, No thanks... I said in another thread today that we've had our fair share of disruptive, arrogant, primadonna ***** with delusions of grandeur and they got us nowhere. If he truely thinks he's somewhere near the World Cup squad then he needs his head examined.

No thank you very much. For whatever, Ricketts is accused of being the demolisher of team spirit, can only imagine the effect this spoilt has been would have!

These guys searching for their last paycheck really do seem to go to the way that their reputation has preceeded them. Ricketts, one decent season, England Cap, thinks he's great, now wobbling around at the bottom of L1. Campbell, if it wasn't for his "problems" would've been enjoying the odd run out at the Emirates but now has deemed any sort of chance of a career outside the gentle busom of the prem dead and buried so will end up a pundit on Channel 5 or the new Colin and Justin with Stefan Freund.

If only they were all like the Goat, Ian Wright (ok he's a prize prat but at least he's willing to show a more "bloke down the pub" feel than most footballers) and to an extent Dougie, genuine fellas willing to give something back and therefore will carve something after their career ends.

Problem is, it's just like my wise uncle said, look at the guys who were good at football at school, most of them you wanted to just crawl into a hole and die. These people get together and it's up to the coaches to keep them in check, unfortunately, they're not the brightest chaps either.

This guy lied to Tottenham and their fans for months so that him and his agent (Sky something) could break the bank with wages from Arsenal at the time ,because he ran down his contract and joined on a free and denied Spurs roughly 20 Million, (about 40 Million in todays transfer market)
That's why they hate him so much even tho he was one of their all time greats.

Myself and a couple of fellow shrimpers saw him play at Morecambe on Sat., and he was off the pace and pretty poor. I should add that we were going to Durham for the cricket on the Sunday so thought it would be good to take in a game on the way. Enjoyable game, £13 to stand and a beer behind the terrace at half time all very civilised. County must have had about 800 or so fans, suspect it would have been closer to 80 before their take over.

I thought he was not allowed to join another Football League club?

No he isn't because he wasn't a free agent when the window shut. So we couldn't (nor could anyone else) sign him but we could sign someone like Peter Gilbert (Left back we had on trial, released by Oldham just recently).
