software to put together a magazine

Matt, there are 3 main areas to look at, page Layout, the Illustrations/drawing and the Photo editing

Get yourself the following if you can, I am sure that you can pick them up fairly cheap somewhere!!!

Adobe Pagemaker or Quark Express, both will produce industry standard formats such as A series, B series, C series and sizes SRA sizes for professional printing if needed.

Adobe Illustrator This software package that will create scalable EPS graphics.


Adobe Photoshop
. As long as you can export and import the usual graphic formats such as TIFF, GIF, JPG, and EPS you will be fine and to be fair, Photoshop is the only way to go.

My dad has his own printing company and I can ask him for more advice if you need it mate.....good luck
