I am irritated by this Max joker on Soccer AM.
Tim Lovejoy was quality at what he did and Jeff Stelling is a legend with an infinite amount of knowledge of all teams across the English leagues. But, would they work well together on Soccer AM?

Helen Chamberlain is not in the equation. She will get up the duff by James Wade soon.

Soccer AM bores me nowadays. Its all old hat I think. Max Rushden looks like he has never prsented before and Helen Chamberlin is such a one trick pony.

I don't watch it anywhere near as much as I used to, but actually think Max Rushden is ok. He doesn't take himself too seriously compared to the ego that was Lovejoy.

To be fair to Rushden, he was decent on the radio and doesn't have the amount/quality of writers that Lovejoy had while on the show. When Lovejoy left to front that MLS show that died on it's arse, he took the pick of the staff with him (Sheephead, Tramp, Neil etc) and they were the ones who wrote the majority of the material.

Sky should ditch the show and come up with something new and fresh.
Their worst mistake was not replacing Lovejoy with Frank Skinner when they had the chance...

must admit i am bored of it. if theres a good guest then its pretty good but they gone down hill a little bit. used to watch it every week but don't really bother anymore.

jeff stelling is funny. but don't think he would some of the questions for the younger crowd.

lovejoy 1) did make the show what it was and 2) i am asking if stelling and lovejoy would work well together not if you want to see it.

Dont know if any of you guys listen to the 10.30pm show on Radio 5 live with Tony Livesey, but Max Rushden covered for him one day during this week and it was very amateurish. Wasnt really impressed and he didnt seem to know what he needed/meant to talk about.

In general though, Soccer AM is nowhere near as good as it used to be, and it seems like it should just be ended, as it's going down just like Friends did before it was cut.

Wasn't Max actually a viewer who wrote in and asked to be host?? I might be completely wrong on that but I heard it from somewhere.

For the record, Jeff Stelling would tarnish his name if he lowered his standards to do that show, it needs to be shortened now with a variation of scenes and material rather than have the same bits at the same time each week, month, year even!

I remember before Lovejoy when Russ Chamberlain done it, it used to start at 8am too! Those were the days.
