There's a guy on that thread though that says he had it confirmed by his brother Tom Soares that the correct pronounciation is indeed Soares (as in "oars" with an S).

I would also like clarification on Sofiane Zaaboub and Bilel Moshni (or whatever way round his name is).

The lack of clarity on this issue is severely hampering attempts to come up with suitable rhymes. We haven't faced this sort of uncertainty since Leo Roget burst onto the scene.
