The league table doesn't lie, therefore which of the following applies:

1) we have the worst squad in the CCC in terms of ability
2) we have the smallest squad in the CC and have been crucified by key injuries
3) we have the worst Management Team in the CCC
4) we have the most inexperienced Management Team in the CCC
5) we are the unluckiest Team in the CCC
6) the league table does lie

.......love to hear some opinions.

Personally I think that we are paying for getting promoted too soon which was fundamentally off the back of being a solid Team with an extraordinarily good striker. We did not play the best football in League 1, but we ground out results through our fantastic Team spirit - unfortunately, Team Spirit alone is not enough to hack it in the CCC.

1) we have the worst squad in the CCC in terms of ability

don't be silly. col u have worse individuals than us - but at the moment they have a lot more belief than us.

2) we have the smallest squad in the CC and have been crucified by key injuries

Agreed. Yet I do believ a smaller squad is better - it was that closeness within the squad that got us promoted last year

3) we have the worst Management Team in the CCC

No way - st and pb are a good team. We need to support them in this time of need

4) we have the most inexperienced Management Team in the CCC

do we? probally col u and ipswich are less so than ours

5) we are the unluckiest Team in the CCC

YES YES YES. - this bad luck and bad timeimg has beeen thecause of a our loss in confidence. Howmany times have we dominated games, had more possesion hit the woodwork etc

6) the league table does lie

we aren't the worste team in the league - both the way we play and the individuals we have. BUT a massive loss in confidence shows

Spot on. As I said earlier, we were lucky last season, very lucky, and finished up top of the pile, a surprise for both fans and, I'd wager, the football club. That luck ran out on August 8th 2006 when Leon Cort smashed home that equaliser and the proverbial flood-gates squeezed themselves open. Along came Sunderland and we all got excited about crushing them 3-1 at Roots Hall ~ until someone pointed out that EVERYONE had been crushing them for the last 12 months so it was nothing extraordinary. It's been a long bumpy road since then (with the bright lights of the services arriving in the form of Man Ure) and it's going to get bumpier and nastier, team spirit or no team spirit ...

We got lucky an awful lot of times last season, as we won more games and got more points than any one else, and as a consequence were deserved winners of the League 1 title. As Gary Player put said, "It is strange how lucky I get with the more I practice"

I do agree, that since the Palace game we have been found wanting. The team seem to make the same errors continually and do not seem capable of learning from them. New players have arrived, and I will not criticise individuals, but they do not appear to have settled as yet. Whether they are good enough or not is not for me to judge, I am sure the management team know more about them than I and the majority of posters on SZ do. Additionally, Eastwood and the other strikers have copped their fair amount of flak on here, again that is the prerogative of the individual to say, but strikers are only as good as their supply. And if they do not get the ball in the right areas then they will not score while they holes in their collective backsides. I think it is fair to say we create next to bugger all in the penalty area.

I and many said before the season that 21st would be good enough for survival, and is still achieveable, but we need to get on a winning streak. Last season under 50 points was the mark for relegation and may be the same this. The teams around us like Hull, Barnsley & Leeds look poor and Luton are dropping like a stone. We and the above 4 will contest the 3 relegation spots. IMO we need to win at least 10 of our remaining 26 games to have half a chance, and of course scrape a few draws along the way.

If it were me I would say to team the season starts against Wolves on Saturday, let's start it with a win and trust it will snowball from there.

I can't have this we went up too soon nonsense. As Steve Winwood always says "When you see a chance take it." What would have been th epoint of finding ourselves near the summit of the League One table last season and saying "hold on, we don't want to go up too soon."

There lots of clubs that do pull back from being promoted,I do think we came up to quick, the squad we had and to a large extent and still have is a division 2 squad, they played some great football in the middle of last season but cracked under the pressure towards the end.
We only did so well at the end because every one arond us lost as well.
It must be hard to play good teams every week as tilson says there are no easy games in this division.Especially with a squad that is very small, has suffered from injuries and has lost a certain amount of believe in its self. we will do well in the championship in our new stadium but I fear not this season.
