Question So, who will we actually have come the start of the season?

Just joined today,...been a SUFC supporter since 78/79, so enjoyed the high's and many low's along the way. Current situation can be surely considered as one of the lowest points, however despite being very disapointed by Tilson leaving the club I expect good things from Sturrock if what is said being true..

Anyway, the my question is; what players will we have come the start of the League 2 campaign? Checking the SUFC official site we have 10 players, however reports say we have only 9 Pro's?

Anyone know if the likes of Francis, Mildenhall, and Moussa will stay? Are they under contract..? In fact Sturrock isn't actually our offical Manager yet, cos he can't sign the contract until our 'so called' Chaiman has sorted our latest problem! Maybe still time to oust Ronald and re-install Steve ! LOL!

Welcome to the site.

Not sure who we will be able to bring in. Much will depend on wether the embargo is lifted.

If it isnt than Paul sturrock will be off so maybe the biggest signing is sturrock himself.

I also think that sturrock coming might just convince simon francis to stay and the club along with moussa.

I couldnt care aless about mildy as i dont rate him that highly at all anyway.

One thing is for sure its never dull at our club

the concern is really that we need quite a number of players in a relative short period of time, I just hope we don't 'panic' buy to make up the numbers...

agree about Mildenhall, but would be nice to know we have a decent back up before he could be let go..

Francis staying is a must IMHO

Welcome to the board mate.
If you've been a supporter for 30+ years, it's good advice not to panic buy, you may remember Peter Morris & Dick Bate doing this, and they bought some shockers as anyone who remembers Richard Young will tell you.

Still struggle to see why people are so down on Mildy. He'd be one of the better goalkeepers in League Two next year if we held onto him - mark my words. Think of the standard of goalkeeper we saw - even in SUFC colours - at that level... Capleton, Emberson, Prudhoe. I also remember one of Darryl's worst ever spells being in League Two (home to Boston, IIRC), on the basis that his heart was no longer in it.

There are plenty of worse keepers out there than Mildy!

That said, I imagine he, Franno and Franck will all be looking to jump ship sooner rather than later.

:(

I think Mildy dosent help himself by giving the impression he thinks he is better than he is. I think he is a decent-good keeper but he gets beaten to easily with low angled shots and his distribution is woeful.

Moussa and Francis to stay would be a dream but i think both will feel they can do better. I expect both are loyal to Tilly too so that will possibly be a factor.

Granty is key in my mind for next season. I think he is a super player and could be a good captain too. Leads by example and gets stuck in all the time putting himself on the line for the side.

Harry, How many times have I told you, I have been given precise Medical instructions never to read the words R****** Y**** again.

Once again you have set my rehabilitation back six months

I think Francis's issue is the fact that we're in League 2! I'd like to be proved wrong though. Mildy and Moussa may have their minds changed though.

Also, Dave the Shrimper, Mildys distribution isn't THAT bad... I've certainly seen worse. He has his moments, granted, but Royce, Capleton, Gay, Emberson, Robinson were far worse. Flahavan's was more accurate but he took an age to get rid of the thing. We could have been 1-0 down with 3 minutes to go and if we had a goal kick he'd still trot across the box, place the ball down carefully, kick his boot behind the ball to elevate it slightly, line it up, saunter back to the bye line, do that funny little start to his run up and then larrup the ball upfield, by which time there would be 2 minutes to go...

:D Sorry mate I thought the medication had kicked in by now. In case you'd forgotten his good looks...

Harry Crawford....

anyone seen him play...?
did well to set up M'Votos equaliser against Oldham at the end of the season. Has a bit of skill and pace and works hard, I think he could be a useful sub this year.
