So what is the strangest place

You have bumped into a Southend united fan, without prior planning? I turned out last night for our footie team and as I walk past the ref he was looking at my training top.I said "what do you want to see some real class" as I shoved the badge towards him.He replys I am a Southend fan and have only been over a few months. It turns out his son posts on here as well. Now I have never met this guy or Knew he was a ref.His eyesight was a bit dodgy in the second half but that goes with the kit. So back to the question where was it?

I was in Brisbane CBD a few years ago on holiday wearing my shirt and as I was going up an escalator into a shopping mall a guy who was going down shouted to me as we passed - 'SHRIMPERS!'

I was on holiday in Kos and bumped into the one and only Jocko Stephen who had flown out several days after me and I didn't know he was coming.

Was in NZ in 2000. I met 2 SUFC fans at my then soon to be father in law to be / now ex F I L. WE promised to stay in touch. We didn't. If You are those I met in Eastwood outside Wellington, PM me and we can catch up. I was not part of the Zone on 2000 so will wait to see if they have found this execellect site.

A friend of my wife's from Wellington was telling me how he was in the pub after a Wellington Pheonix A-League game. He was wearing a Manc U shirt (sad git) and this extremely drunk girl staggered across the pub, opened her arms wide and screeched in his face 'Der, der, der, der - Freddy Eastwood!'

I can only assume she was a Shrimper - and a pretty cool one by the sounds of it

Jeffreys Bay - South Africa. Was at a hostel there run by a South African guy when I noticed behind the bar there was Southend memoribila - old shirts and scarfs with a few programmes thrown in. Found out the guy who owned the hostel his old man was from Southend and moved to South Africa to work for the embassy. And his son had been passed on the Southend bug but only seen us play a handful of times in his life. I gave him my shirt as a memento to add to the wall of fame.

Was in Geneva for a class trip last year, and on the way home from the airport at the security checks, a guy came up to me (was wearing the betterview L1 promotion shirt) and said he was on his way to see the Blues play at the Hall. Not sure if he posts on here - but that was the furtherest away i've met a fan.

Universal Studios, Florida - 2nd LDV final. Met up with another family all wearing Blues shirts, wandering around waiting for texts from home!

I was amazed to find I was working with in the same office with my now mate, Andy when I first came up to MK. Nothing overseas sadly.

I was on an Island called Unst which is the most Northerly part of the British Isles, right at the tip of the Shetlansd Ieles having a meeting with a supplier when he introduced me to the Mayor of Unst.

When we got talking, it turned out that the Mayor used to live down Daileys Road in Rochford and i used to live down Somerset Avn in Rochford. Anyone who knows Rochford would know the close proximity of the roads.

He also was an avid Blue supporter still following all of the up and downs.

That really blew me away.

Morning Chaps!

I was enjoying the company of some rather loose women when on holiday in the Med, when one of them fetched a rather plump man with an enormous backside, dressed in a gimp costume. He obviously noticed my rather fetching SUFC bowtie and embossed leather pants and without saying a word, flopped his tackle out to reveal the sufc badge tattooed on his spuds.

I saw a Shrimper coming out of the Alder Hey children's hospital in Liverpool. If there's one city you don't expect anyone to be wearing anything other than a Liverpool FC or Everton FC shirt, it is Liverpool.

And yet, there he was, a guy walking past me in the "blood orange splat" (the away version of the custard splat) shirt. Not just any old SUFC shirt, but one of the most legendarily awful ones - and there he was, wearing it proudly on Merseyside.

I was actually too stunned to say anything. He probably wondered who the weirdo was, gawping outside the hospital!

:stunned:

Disgraceful being in Florida when we were playing in a final!! Mind you I would of rather of been there than at that final :(

I first met TrueBlue in the chilled pie and pizza aisle at Tesco Southend... not a strange place, and most probably where you'd expect him to be?

I hate to swear on a pleasant thread like this, but my ex-missus worked in a Hotel in Calgary and was about to let a scumbag with a Col Ewe Shirt check in. This was in the good old days when I actually had some sway with her, and on my advice she refused to let him in on the grounds that his companion was probably a prostitute.

It's bizarre to see a Col Ewe fan anywhere, let alone in the shadow of the Canadian Rockies, but to also have the opportunity to cause him grief made this a joyous moment.

I was in Keswick the other week when stood at a crossing, and a car drove straight past, without letting us cross.. It came as no surprise i guess that the car had a Col U sticker and Flag in the rear windscreen!

Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria a few years back in a hotel while on holiday with the family. At reception we saw another blues family!

Don't know if the family next to me on holiday in Biarritz, South West France (luv-erly there:)) were SUFC fans but found out they live in Southchurch, and the other side of us was a couple who live in London and the wife was born in Southend and her mum still lives here :D
