So 2 in and 2 out

IANichols

Youth Team
While I have no doubt the 2 new lads in are off better quality than 2 that have temporarilly left Roots Hall, even Dagenham Kev could tell you that absolute size of the squad is unchanged.

So is that enough ? I would have liked to see another striker at least to replace fat boy Ricketts

Well only time will tell and January really isnt that far away, just hope we dont lose Eastwood then

still tomorrow, firmly expect us to get a point at the very least and I have a sneaky feeling it will be all three

Personally would have liked to have seen another striker but to be fair there are already six on the books. On the flip side though i do feel this is now our striongest squad for many a year.

He's more likely to tell you its none of your business...

Seriously, We've let 2 fringe players who may not be good enough for this league go on loan, and replaced them with 2 loanees who are potentially good for this league and have no doubt improved the squad. We've seen what McCormack can do, and Riera was definitely a class act against us and will no doubt add some solidity into the midfield.

Very true - don't forget that we have (once again) been promoted twice in two seasons, and the jump in standard between League Two and the Championship is phenomenal - with the squad still in the main consisting of players who were playing their trade in the bottom division not too long ago... Unlike Col Ewe, we haven't had the chance to build a potential Championship squad over a number of seasons - I'm sure that more pernament signings will arrive in January - keep the faith ! !

Why do we need a keeper ? Is Collis injured ?

Whilst 2 in 2 out may look like we havent moved forward, bearing in mind one is Jay Smith who is assumingly not classed as good enough for the first team, and the 2nd is Gutts who hasnt been good enough and wants out.

Just having McCormack gives us a player good enough for the first team, and hopefully Riera will prove to be of some use.

Yeah he is injured - sadly, but worse comes to the worse we will be able to get one on emergancy loan

Isn't the youth team goalkeeper (Joe Welch?) good enough for the bench then?

To me we are OK. Like Roy McDonough says in today's Echo, the players should be taking a hard look at themselves in that if they can raise their game to beat a strong Man Utd side they should be able to get a few wins under their belts in the league and are currently letting Tilly down. I tend to agree.

EG- why can't we have the JCR against Man Utd on a more regular basis?

That is the $64,000 question, and is probably the reason JCR isn't playing in the Premiership.

jcr seemed to have more time against man u though. they stood off him alot. same happens when he plays for jamaica.

Get bradders back in, mckormack in midfield with this new guy from sunderland and potentially its good enough. Untill injuries hit.

Give bradbury a chance before we look for strikers.
