Simon Francis - Carlisle

Class act today, superb. Forget your Sanks Ricey, this guy is the real deal.
His set pieces were spot on and that free kick that hit the bar was a great effort.
Was nice and tidy at the back, while being a great threat going forward. Also those sublime cross-field balls to him where he pulled out some outstanding touches so that he could whip in one of his awesome crosses.
Viva la Franno!

P.s - Macca should have been MOTM ;)

Although his set pieces today were very good, his defensive work wasn't as expected. It was tidy, just not good enough, and to be fair, I don't think Carlisle held much threat.

I was one of the women who chose Simon Francis as man of the match and I can assure you we are all season ticket holders who have sat through too many grim games watching Mr pass back Sankofa play and we thought it was well deserved so up yours all you Francis bashers

I have never been a Francis basher and think he has been playing well recently. He was shocking at the start of the season, he has bags of talent but can be lazy as hell sometimes.

His crosses are quality. He's an awkward player, doesn't really have the atributes to fit into a position.

Played well today, not quite MOTM for me, but not far off, Macca would have got it if I was choosing.

Playing against a 4-5-1 did help him today, if he can play like that against a 4-4-2 I'd be interested. Sanks deserves his spot, although he wont get in on Friday after that showing.

How many of the crosses today went through him, its easily 90% + of them. How many crosses would we of made if sankofa was in the side? Franno should definetly keep his place Friday especially after the way he brought that ball down in the first half when their gezzer fell on his arse and should of scored, that touch was superb. If he could just start defending like he did in the championship he would be unstoppable.
