Tomorrow at Morecambe as we try to hoof/play (delete according to choice) ourselves back into form, we have referee Mark Haywood from Wakefield, West Yorkshire in charge (not to be confused with League referee Mark Heywood from Northwich). This is his 6th season as a League referee and we have seen very little of him in that time.

In fact he has refereed us just twice before. Most recently in the Mohsni late show at Crewe (1-3) this season when he showed an uncharacteristically high 6 yellows (4 to us) and prior to that in the 2-1 defeat at Northampton last season with the game's only yellow card going to Mohsni.

He rose through the ranks quite quickly and his card count has always been comfortably the right side of average and is getting plenty of Championship matches. He has shown just 78 yellows in 29 matches but, on a cautionary note, he has yet to show a red card this season.

Assistants are Chris Kavanagh who works for Manchester FA and Simeon Lucas from Darwen, near Blackburn.

The all northern quartet is completed by 4th official Darren Handley from Bolton.

Tuesday's performance must have been gutless if they couldn't even attract a caution from Deadman !
