I take it this 6666 member is someone within the club and not just a fan? As that's what seems to come across.

Personally I can't see us gazumping anyone financially though.

God I hope this striker stuff is all sorted one way or another in the next week!

An interesting read, shame some of their posters came across as complete arses, some of their criticisms were unduly harsh IMO, especially the one that compared us to a non-league team. Oldham may have been in the Premier League once but they're hardly a massive club...!

Let's not forget they almost got relegated last year....

You should see some of the posts on there now, I always thought Beckett would be a sensational signing but reading some of the posts on the Oldham board its clear he may be even better than I thought when I'd seen him in the past - and they're very bitter about it make no mistake!

Still he hasn't signed yet....

The BBC sports message board has a message today from someone claiming they know from an Oldham board member that Beckett is Southend bound...

I hate it when people say that kind of thing on messageboards like the BBC - I'll believe Beckett is 'Southend-Bound' when I see a pic of him signing his contract on the official site!
