SOUTHEND United defender Adam Crowther is facing an extended spell on the sidelines.
The centre-back injured the inside of his knee during the Shrimpers' 3-0 defeat at York City just before Christmas.
And Blues boss Kevin Maher will now be without the 24-year-old for the foreseeable future.
"We've had the scan back and it's looking like it's longer than we hoped," said Maher.
"It's something we're going to have to look at.
"He will have to have another scan a good number of weeks down the line."
Crowther started 23 games in succession before suffering the injury.
