Echo News Shrimpers boss Maher provides update on Taylor's injury

SOUTHEND United head coach Kevin Maher is hopeful Harry Taylor's hamstring injury is not as bad as first feared.
Taylor missed Saturday's 3-1 defeat against Gateshead with the injury he suffered towards the end of Tuesday night's 1-1 draw at Wealdstone.

But Maher has now revealed Taylor may not be out for as long as initially expected.

"Hopefully it's not as bad as first feared," said Maher.

"He managed to save himself the other night by stopping as soon as he felt something.

"Fingers crossed it won't be as bad as we thought but that's without knowing the time-frame right now."
