ZACH Jeacock has yet to return to Southend United after injuring his foot.

Jeacock is back at his parent club Lincoln City for treatment after suffering the injury last week.

But Blues boss Kevin Maher is hopeful the shot-stopper will not be sidelined for too long.

"He's got a bit of bone bruising and a slight tear in a capsule,” said Maher.

"Hopefully it's not too bad but we're just waiting for it to settle down."

Youth team goalkeeper Charlie Brown will continue to act as back up for Collin Andeng Ndi during Jeacock’s absence.

And, when asked if he would be looking to sign a replacement Maher said: "Zach’s with us until at least January but it's something we're monitoring.

"We'll keep an eye on it but we want to get Zach back as quickly as we can.

"He's fairly confident he will be able to do it as well."

Jeacock has made three appearances for the Shrimpers since signing on loan.
