I can not find a thread on the actual football game so here goes............
Same team as York or does Phil want to make a change?

This is hard to call; I think Mr Brown will put Barry back in for Weston, then maybe bring Weston on after an hour.

Barry helps at defending set pieces and has his uses up front as well.

No need to change a winning side. Barry on in the second half if necessary. Fancy Payne to net again, his confidence must be sky high at the moment!

I think Corr does bring some extra ooommmpph but I can't help agreeing with those above ......... keep the same side even though I don't think the central defender pairing is the best that we have.

However, I wonder about the subs bench - packed full of players that could easily be in the starting eleven. All waiting for their chance to get on and shine.

And Lenny and Timlin back in, maybe a couple of weeks. Good problem for PB.

This promises to a tough examination, especially for the defence. It appears that Shrewsbury will feature a number of big players who are useful headers. Seem to think Collins and Grandison have both scored against us in recent times. But PB watched them beat Naarwich so he will be fully aware of the threat. Let's hope we have our own threats firing on all cylinders.

Quote from Captain....disrespectful to say the least

"Lawrence admitted Southend, managed by former Hull boss Phil Brown, will pose a different test to Norwich with the captain saying it’s important Shrewsbury stand up to the challenges of League Two.

He said: “We do seem to play well against the good football sides, which Norwich are.

“I looked at their team sheet and they had the likes of Steven Whittaker, Kyle Lafferty, Carlos Cuéllar and Gary Hooper.

“We need to drill it into the lads what to do when it does become a long ball game and when teams try to beat us up. We need to be firm, still play our stuff, but make sure we find a way to win.”

Same team as last time, and let's see what Lawrence has to say at the end of the match. He could be in for a surprise I think. COYB.

Let him find out how much of a long ball we do!! It's more likely be on the ground and he have to stand and watch as Weston goes past him!!

For me, keep the same winning team, has Mr Brown changed our team and we lost, he would get ripped apart on Shrimperzone!!

Don't change a winning side. Looking forward to seeing deegan for the first time. Let's hope he plays the Alan McCormack role and just breaks up play.

Got a feeling that we will scrape a draw in this one with young Jack Payne doing the business again.

On the back of three wins on a trot we're full of confidence. As a result, probably a slightly larger Southend contingent at the Hall today, looking for an entertaining performance and score against a good Shrewsbury side, who will also come with a bit of confidence themselves. In previous seasons this is the type of game we screw up, will be an interesting marker to see how it goes today. I'm wearing the 'rose-tinted' and going for a 2-0 win. Shrewsbury haven't won away from home this season, two draws and two defeats on their last two travelling games and only have only scored one goal in their last four league games.
