Should we look over our shoulders?

Looking at the league table should we start looking over our shoulders,I am concerned about the lack of points we have collected over the past 2 months.I am a tab worried and for the first time I have looked at the the bottom four results.I am trying to keep positive however I cant see where the next three points are coming from we seem to of run out of ideas and tactics.Come on Ron get the bloody cheque book out and make 3-4 decent signings other wise it could be a nervy last quater of the season.

Ridiculous comment.

We played well today and were very unlucky to have had Macdonald go off injured within 5 minutes, black playing upfront (Did ok actualy) and Harrold getting sent off.

The results will come soon i'm sure of it, just need to sign afew good strikers.

Yes they will start coming when we sign two decent strikers however I dont think it is a ridiculous comment just ask Leeds,Forest and Man City fans when they dropeed into league one.I am not saying any thing negative however we do need to start picking up points otherwise we could be lookong over over our shoulders.

Thank you ,Mighty Shrimper is living in cooko land no team is to good to go down .We need points quickly.

We're just going through a bad patch, every team does. The results will come and if we play like we did today against Bournemouth, we'll pick up 3 points and everybody will be looking on the brightside again.

Its these sort of comments and faith that have left Newcastle in the **** over the years.

Faith does'nt score goals unfortunately.

How many saves do you recall their keeper actually making, 'cos I can't think of many. To win games you need to score goals, usually more than the opposition and we aren't at the moment. If that trend continues then we will continue to fall down the table.

other target

Ron Martin mentioned on BBC Essex that we've made a bid on another player with a fee of more than £250 000.

Anyone any ideas on who this may be?

Today i thought we played really well. Harold actually had a good game. I won't waste my breath on the officials....although it's not really breath....more typing. I've just wasted a lot more while explaining myself....grrrr

Not that ridiculous, we have only picked up 9 points from 11 games. If that form continued until the end of the season we would go down!

Today we played the best Ive seen us play in months.

One lapse moment in defending cost us but overal we looked good. We need someone up front as Harrold played well but we were only going to win from a goal from midfield today.

I bet you my house we will not be relegated this season.

I don't think we'll go down, but the fact that some of us are even discussing it shows how far we have fallen. The team that one us League One would be doing a job now, even without Freddy. Our transfer activity in the last 18 months has been a disaster.

Erm! It's the exact opposite of the comments that started this thread that have got Newcastle where they are. Their fans expect the team to overachieve every year and when they don't do anything they get on the managers back.

No team is ever too good to go down & when you get into a losing mentality it's very difficult to shake & particularly hard if you don't score goals.

Bingo.

We went 1-0 up relatively early. If we keep a clean sheet we win and our players feel that much more relaxed in front of goal next time.

The trouble with that is we simply cannot afford to rely on 1-0 wins every week, with the goal coming from a long(ish) range effort from one of our midfielders.

There are problems at both ends of the pitch at the moment, it isn't just a case of signing a striker and all of our problems will be solved, as there is clearly an underlying problem with our ability to remain focused at the back for 90 minutes.

For all of our possession and neat build up play, how many chances did we really create today? Did their keeper actually have anything of note to do? It is all very well playing well in the middle part of the pitch, which is what we did, but with no cutting edge, then you are always vulnerable to the opposition equalising, as Yeovil did today.

No, they probably didn't deserve it, and yes we were unlucky when Charlie MacDonald had to go off injured leaving is woefully short up front, but the question is, should we really have allowed ourselves to be in that position in the first place? Should we have allowed our attacking resources to run that dry that one injury during the game left us with only one recognised striker on the pitch? No, of course we shouldn't, that really is pretty unprofessional.

Back to the original point, should we be looking over our shoulders? Personally, I don't think so, no matter how bad our run of form, we are head and ahoulders ahead of most teams in the bottom half, but we have to go out and prove that on e refular basis, As someone said, the fact we are even having this discussion shows how far as a team we have fallen realy.
