Well what a way to come back down to earth with a huge crashing bump!

Tonight's perfomance wasn't good enough.

Its such a shame after the way we've been playing lately.

What game was Tilson watching?? Did anyone hear his post match interview on BBC Essex?? He reckoned we didn't play that bad. Perhaps i was at a different game Mr Tilson.

3-0 down at half time, two soft goals we give away, then their third was so offside. You would have thought Tilson would have gone for broke at the start of the second half and brought three subs on. But no, he waits and waits and waits and waits, then brings Bentley on for Pettefer (when the game is lost). Its the FA cup, three nil down at home for F**K sake! He should have chucked another striker (Bramble) on and sacrificed a midfielder or defender.

Why didn't he just go for it?? We had to get 3 goals to take it to a replay. The other two subs he made were far too late, the game was already lost. Whats up with his tactics?? This reminds me of Newman and his substitutions (2-0 down, then bring on a sub with 5 minutes left when the game is out of reach). Very poor! As Tilson said before the game "its a free game", so why be soooo cautious man! Be daring and use your subs more effectively!

Funny part of the night was when the balls came over the south stand, wonder who were the culprits? It certainly made me laugh.
Fair play to whoever done it

The sooner Flahavan gets back the better. Griemink is a useless shot-stopper! What a flap for the first goal. I think Flavs would have saved the second. And why did Bart go to ground so early for the third?

It wouldn't be so bad losing had we played well (like at West Ham in the league cup). But to go out in the style we did was so dissapointing.

UP THE BLUES

Whatever mate!

Where was the fighting spirit tonight? Like the one when we went down 2-0 in what was a good performance at Upton Park earlier in the season.

Although it looked it from inside the ground, it certainly wasn't. Have a look at it on T.V.

Agree with you when it comes to the lack of adventure with regards to the subs though.

What was truly shocking was that the Spread was shut after the game and I had to walk to Bar Vic to get a post game beer!

What happened in the Golden Lion before the game?

I was sitting in the west right opposite the incident!
The camera high under the west roof was at a bad angle to where the play was.
Ive replayed the goal about 10 times on the video and it does look offside.
From where i was sitting, it really was offside!
There was so many around me who agreed and were going apesh*t.

Do you know the definition of the offside rule? Cause quite clearly their player was onside when the ball was played. Muppet.

At 3-0 down at half time we're out. We aren't going to score three times without reply in 45 minutes against the best team in League One. Whats the point of chucking a load of forwards on and getting caught with no one at the back and ending up being done by five or six?

I'm guessing that was Tilly & Brushy's feelings anyway.

Yea, Jupp was a mile behind the last defender... I bet at the ground it looked 100% off, but on TV - 100% onside....

It was definately onside, no doubt about it although i thought bentley for hunt and Bramble for Petts may have been a good half time sub. Anyone no what was up with Spinner, 3-0 down whats the point in subbing a CB unless his injured.

Yeah cause the camera under the west stand roof was at a bad angle to where the play was!

The camera was in the south/west part of the ground, right where the family section is in the west stand.

It was offside!

Well, unless the groundsman's been mowing on the ****, it was a mile onside. Jupp and Che were far too slow to follow Spinner and Barrett out as they went to meet the strikers.

They made a mockery of our offside trap. Brkovic must have been wondering if it was half time with the lack of defenders around him

Prior was definately injured. Lawrie Dudfield had taken his tracksuit off and was ready to come on, then suddenly Eagle was frantically warmed up and Duds was left on the bench.

Overall, very disappointed about last night. Maher, Gray and Wilson were the only players that seemed to realise it was a cup tie, the rest were fairly poor. First half was awful, we couldn't string 3 passes together and didn't play any good football just long balls. Second half was an improvement and we had a lot of posession, but we didn't test their keeper much which was a shame because he was awful. I agree with Tony that Tilly's subs were poor, why bring Bentley on when we have Dudfield and Bramble on the bench?

Credit to Luton, though, I can see why they're top of Leauge One. They passed the ball around very well, they're very physical and I thought they defended superbly. They closed us down very quickly and it worked very well, and they also marked Gray and Eastwood very tightly. As for the 2nd goal, at first I thought it was offside but our defence may have played him on. Griemink should have done better anyhow.

Oh well, it's the league that matters and it's up to the players to recover now because we have an important game at Yeovil next week.

Your point about the cameras angle is totally rubbish... believe me... I know. If you follow a marker (line in the cut of the grass, or (in this case) the line marking the penalty area, you can clearly tell that the Luton player was being played ON SIDE as the ball was played by Jupp who (no matter what persepctive) was closer to the line marking the penalty area.

Personally i thought Lewis Hunt had a very good game. Their two central defenders had Eastwood and Gray in their pockets. They stopped us playing the kind of football we win games with, in League 2 and therefore we resorted to the long ball too much. However when we did past it around in the second half it looked much better. Personally im not too sure what's wrong with out back 5, but we have conceded the second most in League 2 and yet we are 5th. Maybe try Hunt with Barrett and play Bentley in midfield

I thought at the game last night that it was most definitely off-side. In fact, I was doing my nut. The chap next to me pointed at the players on the field. No one was complaining to the ref. More often than not, that tells you a bit about the correctness of the decision. (I'm still yet to see in on TV though)

Hallelujah!! Someone has spotted the obvious remedy!

I honestly think Hunt has justified a place in team in recent weeks, however I would have Bentley on the team sheet every week. I would like to see Hunt given a go in the heart of defence.... really not been impressed yet by Prior since his return.

While we are on the subject of Prior... I'd love to know what he thought he would achieve by bawling Bart out after the first goal. Fair enough it was a **** up. But Prior's actions must have made Bart feel pathetic and any confidence he had left would have been shattered. Giving someone a kick up the arse is one thing but that was way over the top. I'm amazed Bart didn't punch him... mind you he would probably have flapped and missed

Just watched the game again and Brkovic is definately, definately onside. No question. Three of the back four were playing him off but Jupp was playing him on.

He could have been 50 yards offside, it wouldn't have mattered because the last man to touch the ball was Lewis Hunt, so he can't be offside
