Hope people dont mind me starting a new thread considering im a 'Newbie'!

Blatter today called for an alternative to be found rather than Penalty Shoot-Outs...

Personally I think he's deluded, we've tried golden goal and if i remember rightly that was abandoned in 2002. As agonising as penalties can be to watch when its your team involved, they make it all more exciting at the end of the day IMO.

I can't think of another way to settle a game to be fair. Number of corners, most shots on goal? :nope:

Painful to watch, horrible if you lose but incredible emotions if you win. I say keep it.

Is Blatter paid to just come up with stupid new ideas for football? This is the man who said women footballers should wear smaller shorts and that racist incidents should be settled with a handshake. How he's still in that job I don't know. He's a senile, out-of-touch, patronising git who knows nothing about football. Yes penalties are cruel but what other options are there? I quite liked golden goal because these days teams often sit back during extra-time and more often than not it ends up going to penalties, but then you still need the penalties option at the end of that. You cannot beat the drama and tension of a penalty shootout in football. Just ask Huddersfield fans today!
