Selling or Buying Items on the Zone

This is a very tricky area.1. of course we love to see items that are SUFC related being sold to other fans...2..We do not have the insurance like Ebay or Paypal to cover things if there is ever a query over standard and description of the item sold..The Zone Owners policy then has to be we are not a market place for people to sell others anything, even SUFC related. We of course take our own responsibility selling our Zone merchandise.

This is not done to offend any Zoner, but for us, this must be a NO. NO.

On Behalf of the Owners of ShrimperZone.Com.

Just to clarify mate I put all the items from my clearout on eBay to sell and just put a few links up incase fellow fans wanted them. I have no intention of selling them on here as I realise that isn't what this site is for, eBay on the other hand is.

All I want to know is does your post above also include re-directing fellow supporters to a site where they can make a purchase? If the answer is yes then no problem and I won't mention on here any items I have decided to sell in the future, just wanted some clarification.

Thanks.

We have seen a few other links to items SUFC related on ebay in recent months too, so clarification would actually be quite helpful.

It seems my original post has been removed mate so I think that answers our question.

Oh well no problem at least we know now.

At this time we do not have a Forum /Area for Ebay Links ....I am not sure if we would want to, surely Ebay is Ebay unless they want to cut us a slice of the profit...This is not a personal thing and something the Owners will discuss in future to see if we can help the Zoners with this ...In the meantime we have to draw a line and say for now, lets leave it to the Auction sites.

Folks, just to second what John is saying, the decision has been taken that - for now - there is to be no advertising of goods for sale via the Zone. First, we are potentially entering a quagmire in terms of whether or not we are, in effect, becoming agents of eBay by allowing goods for sale there to be listed here.

Second, and perhaps more importantly, we also risk damaging relationships with our fee-paying advertisers. If people can chuck up links on here for now't, our advertisers are going to start asking why the heck they're paying us several hundred pounds a year for the privilege of advertising on here while posters get (in effect) to advertise their stuff for now't.

No adverts = no Zone (or at least not one which is free of charge for you lot).

Thanks for helping out on this. Oh, and remember, chucking us a quid or two every so often via Paypal (see link below) does no harm. Think of it as treating your good friend ShrimperZone to a pint of beer once a fortnight.

Fair enough, no probs.

Can someone please point me in the direction of these adverts

Sorry I thought they meant on the forum, my apologies mods

No worries Scott.

;)

As Uxbridge suggested in the 'ShrimperZone owner's meeting' thread, we're pushing forward with plans to update the site. Not only should it provide improvements for all of us users, but it should also provide more value to our advertisers.

Don't creep Hutton! I think we all go straight onto the forum pages and not the front page which is why we don't see them.

Without going into too much detail, one of the things we are working on is a greater integration between the main site and the forums.

Watch this space.

Can't you become an affiliate of ebays, hence they become a fee paying advertiser?
