I'm no expert but it seemed to me we lost control of the midfield because the middle 4 were not supporting the front 2. The ball was played up to Mohsni and Harris but the likes of Grant and Kalala seemed 30 yards behind them far too often, leaving with no options to play the midfield into an attack. I've not typed this very well but I'm sure you know what I mean. Maybe then, starting with Sawyer would be better.

Think what you are talking about I just wrote about in Southend v Hereford thread but you are right we should have took total control of this game and not be sitting there thinking that they might get a jammy goal or pen for the last 15 mins and have to share the points against such a poor side .

hereford clearly came out for the second half with a tactic to get among us and niggle us at every attempt! They did it well and it worked! We started to get drawn into petty squabbles and as a result lost our shape and control of midfield...however you always know with southend that we never do things the easy way...if we had got a second I think we would have taken control back and won by a handsome margin. Still 3 points to start is all you can wish for! Bring on Accrington!
