As I had submitted a credit card application in the post requesting a slight change in my seat to accomodate my son as a new STH, I decided to take the afternoon off work yesterday to ensure my application had been received, etc.

My offer to write a cheque on the spot was immediately accepted, no credit applications have been processed yet but the issue should be resolved in the next few days when processing will commence.

You do not get a receipt or confirmation, the club will be in touch in due course.

The best thing to do is go in person and lean over the desk and look at the screen and see your name on your seat.

All very helpful, no queues at 2-30pm on a Wednesday although five lots of people came in why I was being processed.

My advice is get down there in person for piece of mind. They anticipate a last minute rush and I bet the next two Saturdays will be chaotic, so be ready for a long wait.

If the club has got any sense they will put lots of champions/centenary stuff in the shop because there will be lots of people.

I also took a photocopy of my application which they dealt with. I would not have been confident that they could have immediately put their hands on my original.

My fear that amongst 6,000+ applications some may have been lost in the post, others mislaid, I think there will be alot of sorting out to do in the summer.

I hope this helps.

I realise this post is too serious for some so I will say that I did drive past the Spread, could only see twp guys in there and one seemed to be texting a friend.

Problem is that for a lot of people getting to the club shop is not possible. I really think the club should have someone way of letting you know they have your S/T form.

Surely a simple email at the end of the day from the club to confirm you have the money would not be too much trouble.

Lets hope they view this site, I suspect they are too busy.

Also whenever you phone it always seems to be number 4 in the queue. Once I got as far as no 1 but after 20 minutes at number 1 I got fed up.
There is of course a simple answer – Hire more staff.

got a response from the club in the post today stating that "23 games have been credited to my existing stile card". I dropped the renewal application in on the 12th.

only worrying bit is that it didn't actually confirm my seat number although i can only assume it is the seat i had last year. what with the ticketing problems in the last few games that i heard of (i beleive one seat was sold four times) i wonder how many people will already have someone in thier seat when they turn up in august?

The club have confirmed that all prvious seaso's applying before 1st June will have the same seat as last year. The card you have shows the seat number on it.

Of course that does not preclude a mistake and subsequent duplication to someone else, but it should flag on the system that a particular seat is taken. I hope.
