Season Ticket Fiasco  lessons to be learnt

DoDTS

The PL League Boss⭐⭐🦐
The problems that everybody seems to have this year, seem to be getting through to the club to buy your season ticket, and then confirmation from the club that it has all gone through OK.

General opinion seems to be that the ticket office do their best but without sufficient staff. Presumably the problem being that about 4,000 new season tickets for people who perhaps are not quite sure if their seat is a good view etc, (and lets face it if you get it wrong your seasons knackered) as well as 2,700 existing all trying to get tickets in about three weeks.

Seems that to renew isn't as difficult as get a new one, therefore next season shouldn't be as bad as we'll have 6-700 people just renewing (hopefully) and little room for new ones.

However if the new ground kicks off the season after and no ones got a clue what seat they want heaven help us all!!!!

Regarding the amount of staff surely the club could have drafted people in from other areas of the club, temps, or even asked the Shrimpers trust if they would phone people to confirm seats or something like that.

I hope you meant 6-7000!

Also, when (if?) the new stadium is built, I would hope people who have been season ticket holders for longer get priority in choosing their seats, much like Arsenal have done with their new stadium.

careful or you will start off a whole new "glory hunter" argument. Still makes a change from cliques.

I went down last saturday and asked for a certain seat. Was told that it was mine unless a postal application or previous season ticket holder had already asked for it. Got a call on tuesday and phoned the club back. Lumbered in the phone queue for 45 minutes before I gave up. Tried again on wednesday and got through after 30 minutes, was told my prefered seat had gone but another one pretty close was still available. Thats me sorted. Only complaint was the length of time held up on the phone, otherwise a polite and helpful service.

Then again, try getting through to the AA then getting some thick brummie bint who doesn't even know what a car looks like. THAT'S hard work.

Lets hope the club actually keep records of how long people have been season ticket holders then. I doubt the current records go back more than 2 seasons. Even the application form asks you if you had a season ticket for last season!!

Which is why I can't see them offering away tickets firstly to longer standing season tickets holders, because they do not have any idea how long you have held a season ticket. I wonder what allocation method will be put in place for away tickets to Col Utd, Ipswich, Norwich etc

I don't think we're going to sell out the new stadium with season ticket holders if I'm honest. In fact, I think it's going to take a bit of work selling it out at all if it's going to be bigger than at first expected.

Perhaps we should wait til it looks like it might be built at all first.
