Season prediction - 4 4 2 magazine

Rattus Norvegicus

Dullard ①
According to the magazine Rotherham will be Champions with Southend 2nd and Chesterfield 3rd.

Play off positions go to Fleetwood, Brissle, Gills and Oxen.

They also reckon it is the last season in the league for Daggers and Barnet.

The article says "Southend, Cheltenham and Torquay will also be looking to go one better than last season's play-off place ...". I think that is called 'stating the obvious' .......

Guess which player is featured in the photo above the column on S.U.F.C.?

last season no one rated us to finish around the top spots as they (publications) all believed we would, at some time, suffer a points deduction: the good news here is that the "experts" must believe we are financially sound.

As for player.....my guess is Dicko?

wasn't the write-up in 4-4-2 last year done by someone on here?
i think they might have had one of the more positive predictions last year but generally speaking I think no-one gave us much chance of getting 4th spot
my guess for player in pic is Ryan Hall

Mohsni? ..........

Yes. Apparently our 'key player' is Anthony Straker. The article says 'former Aldershot defender Straker was monitored by Championship clubs in January before Sturrock persuaded him to join Southend. He loves getting forward into crossing positions, the perfect fit for Sturrock.'

Here is what it says about the Rotherham 'boss' ..... ' the chairman is adamant fans "love" Evans. The manager himself knows he will need to win games fast to get fans on his side ......':hilarious::hilarious:

The column on Southend says .....

'Southend boss Paul Sturrock achieved miracles simply fielding a team last year such were the club's financial constraints; even more so when you consider they dominated the top seven for most of the season.

Yet Sturrock is well versed with taking teams out of League Two and he will be hoping to build on last season's failed play-off attempt. The Shrimpers missed out on automatic spot by just one point and were beaten by a Crewe side who hadn't lost since February - against Southend - in the play-offs. Still, their points haul was the second highest in the club' history and fans will feel confident they can go one better this time particularly if they can win as many games at home as they did away.

If Sturrock can keep the spine of his side together and weave more magic in the transfer market - as well as the arrival of defender Straker, in comes defender Cresswell from Rotherham and returning striker Freddy Eastwood - Southend should challenge at the top again.'

Well, some of the above rings true ....

The "financial constraits" element of that piece was probably copied from the year before when PS first arrived
