Scotty Forbes Poem

DTS

The Business
MY tribute to Scotty Forbes -
By Dave Baker Aged 22 and 9 Months

O Scotty Forbes - my favourite Blue, how will we get on without you ,

No more skill and no more flair , No more of Scotty's gypo hair ,

You made me laugh , you made me cry , at times I said oh Scotty Why ? ,

Our superstar , Our own Ruud Gulitt , No more Forbes and no more Mullett ,

i cant believe they let you go , who's Rob Newman and what does he know ,

You weren't perfect , infact far from it , sometimes your play made me wheeze and vomit ,

But even so you did your best ,
so proud to have the blue shirt on your chest,

You danced round opponents with plenty of grace,
You ran all day till your Blue in the face ,

Always ready to cross the ball , Its a shame the crosses never found Bramble or Rawle ,

Why couldn;t they have given you one more year,As i see you departing I will shed a tear,

Some critics they said Forbes no good , But at least he always had Southend in his blood.

I thank you Scotty ....... Dave the Shrimper

Dave,

that has bough a tear to my eye too !

I am going to ask my mum to cross stitch your poem in borders of blue flowers and fancy swirls (like Forbesies own snake like movements) and i'll put it in a nice frame of balsa wood that will hang, pride of place in the passage way.

Genius. Aboslute bloody genius.
