Have a look at our second goal on Saturday and then explain to me how Flavs' height stops him coming for crosses. Clarke heads the ball from well inside the 6 yard box and the 'keeper isn't anywhere near.

(I guess Bob Wilson does know a thing or two about goalkeeping...see thread from last week).

But the point is, it's not poor keeping. According to Bob Wilson it's a defined style of keeping. If the team all know their jobs it shouldn't matter.

Moreover, even if you consider it a poor style, don't blame it on Flavs' height, keepers plenty taller than him have the same style.

Whilst Flahavans height is a disadvantage Collis had the extra height and wasnt any more commanding and its certainly not just height thats required.

Goals will always be scored from set pieces and its how many we concede thats important and Im confused as to how many we have.

Didnt I read on another thread that we had conceded 30 goals or something from set pieces ?

The echo today has the figure at 16 which according to Tilson is well within acceptable statistics.

As I've said before, Brad Friedal has been one of the top goalkeepers in the Premiership in the past decade and he stays on his line more than Flavs does.

If defenders know that their goalkeeper is going to stay on his line then they need to be willing (and capable) of attacking balls that other keepers would go for. It's the combination of a hesitant goalkeeper with two relatively short centre-backs which has caused us problems this season.

If we had conceded that goal, I would be going absolutely nuts. Clark heads it in from about a yard out !!
